/PanARMENIAN.Net/ `If the election is held without violations
Orinats Yerkir party will occupy a weighty position in the
parliament,’ leader of Orinats Yerkir opposition party, former NA
speaker Artur Baghdassaryan told reporters May 12.

`Several alerts were received via the OY hotline by 10
a.m. Unauthorized use of the election committee’s seal and loss of
100 ballot papers was fixed in Dilijan,’ he said. `After the
election we will make a corresponding statement. We call on all not to
coerce the voters, especially as the authorities exercised absolute
privileges since the start of the election campaign,’ Baghdassaryan
said adding that on the whole the election proceeds well. ` 6
thousand of our empowered persons watch the election,’ he said.

Another opposition leader, chairman of National Unity party Artashes
Geghamyan told reporters he came to the polling station in a good mood
and voiced hope that the election won’t be marred, IA Regnum
reports.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
