ANTHONY GODFREE OBSERVES NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SPEAKER’S VOTING

`I believe that everything in the election process is smooth and calm
for the present moment. I hope that the rest 12 hours, the most
decisive part, will give a chance to confirm that our people have a
dignity, since these elections are not only a democracy examination
but also a dignity examination for all of us’, announced National
Assembly Speaker, Tigran Torosyan, who voted at the polling station N
13/30 located in the school N 2 named after Khachatur Abovyan.

T. Torosyan mentioned that he cherished hopes for May 12 elections, as
our country and its people didn’t deserve negative
appraisals. Referring to post-electoral processes, he noted, `The
people wake up, have a rest, if it’s Sunday, and go to work next
day’. T. Torosyam also reminded about the presidential elections held
in France a few days ago and the events following the mentioned
elections. `We have no problem connected with quality. The most
important thing for us is the correspondence of the elections with the
Electoral Code. The appraisals of the observers are also important’,
Tigran Torosyan told.

It should be mentioned that at the very moment National Assembly
Speaker was voting the USA Charge¢ d’affaires Anthony Godfree was in
the polling station wearing an international observer shirt.
