WHY DOESN’T OY CANDIDATE WANT TO SIGN MEMORANDUM

Souren Mamikonyan, who has nominated as a candidate for deputies in
the electoral district N4, considers as a document of moral importance
the memorandum on conducting of free and fair elections, as well as
not implementing `black PR’. As S. Mamikonyan stated, as our
legislation regulates all the issues connected with falsifications of
elections, serious punishments are defined for them, then he preferred
not to sign the memorandum. To remind, 6 out of 7 candidates nominated
in that district, should sign a memorandum today, however it was
postponed for organizational reasons. Only four of the invited
candidates have attended.

While coffee-drinking member of Orinats Yerkir party, S. Mamikonyan,
has met with the ARFD, RPA and ANM member candidates, nominated in
that district, and discussed the draft memorandum. `Unfortunately the
remaining candidates did not come in order to discuss the document
thoroughly. I think there will be an opportunity further for the
author of the document to present it to all, be able to ground the
mechanisms of implementation of the document’, the candidate said
during the press conference, adding that he is for all constructive
proposals. It should be noted that PAP (Prosperous Armenia Party)
member Hayrapet Hayrapetyan, who is nominated in the same electoral
district, is the author of the memorandum, which has not been signed
yet.
