Armenian PM to be buried on March 28, Pres Accepts Govmt Resignation

Armenian Prime Minister to be buried on March 28, President accepted
the resignation of the government

Yerevan, March 26 /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Andranik
Margarian will be buried on March 28 in the Yerevan pantheon after
Komitas. As Mediamax was told in the State Commission on Funeral
Organization, the civil funeral will take place March 27 at 18:00 in
the apartment of the Prime Minister.

The farewell ceremony with Andranik Margarian will start March 28 at
12:00 in the building of the National Academic Theatre of Opera and
Ballet. The funeral will start 15:00.

Armenian President Robert Kocharian signed a decree today on
declaring March 28 a mourning day in connection with the death of the
Prime Minister Andranik Margarian.

The Ministries, the Heads of regions, the Mayor of Yerevan, the Heads
of Armenian diplomatic missions abroad are entitled on the day of
mourning to half-mast the state flag of Armenia.

Armenian President Robert Kocharian accepted today the resignation of
the Armenian government in accordance with the 55th article of the
Constitution.

As Mediamax was told the press service of the cabinet of ministers,
Robert Kocharian held a special session of the government today. The
President charged the members of the government to continue the work
until the new cabinet of ministers is formed.

The participants of the session honored with a minute of silence the
memory of the Prime Minister Andranik Margarian, who suddenly passed
away March 25.

`We lost a statesman, a colleague, a friend, who for 7 years headed
the government, and those 7 years were the best years of our state.
Occupying a high state position, he remained a modest, tolerant and a
decent person. In our memories Andranik Margarian will remain just as
that, first of all, due to his personal qualities. Andranik Margarian
left at a very responsible moment, and the authorities should make
the right decisions to find a way out from this situation’, Armenian
President Robert Kocharian stated.
