If the Armenian opposition fails to join forces in the control over
free and fair elections in the country, then it is an "appointed"
opposition, not political, MP Aram G.Sargsyan, the leader of the
Democratic Party of Armenia, said during the 7th congress of the DPA,
Saturday.

To remind, yesterday, the DPA filed an application to the Central
Electoral Commission for registration in the May 12 parliamentary
elections. The party list comprises 34 people and is led by A.Sargsyan
himself. Among the top ten are Armen Hovsepyan, Karine Hakobyan, Vanya
Mkhitaryan, Pargev Stepanyan, Rouben Bakhshyan. According to
A.Sargsyan, the DPA is not going to run in single-mandate elections
and will focus on party-list elections.

A.Sargsyan appealed to all the political forces participating in the
elections to set up a coordinating staff to control the whole
electoral process. Creation of such body will ensure more or less
free and fair elections. A week prior to the voting , he will
promulgate the mechanisms due to which the DPA is going to obtain no
less than 100 thsd viotes.
