ARMENIA’S STATE DEBT SERVICING EXPENDITURES DECLINE BY 5.8% IN JANUARY 2007 ON SAME MONTH OF LAST YEAR

YEREVAN, MARCH 2, NOYAN TAPAN. In January 2007, 487.7 mln drams (about
1.341 mln USD) of budgetary resources was allocated for servicing
of the RA state debt. Particularly, 341.6 mln drams was allocated
for servicing the domestic debt, 146.2 mln drams – for servicing the
foreign debt. According to the RA Ministry of Finance and Economy,
state debt servicing expenditures declined by 5.8% in January 2007 on
January 2006. 137.5 mln drams was allocated for payment of external
liabilities, which was spent on repayment of loans provided under
the energy system maintenance program and the enterprise development
program implemented with World Bank assistance.
