Russian Air Force to study Armenian experience in equipping C2 posts

CHOBAN-KARA, Armenia Feb 16

The Russian Air Force will draw on Armenia’s experience in equipping
command and control (C2) posts, Russian Air Force Commander-in-Chief
Army General Vladimir Mikhailov said.

"We should draw on Armenia’s experience in equipping C2 posts,"
Mikhailov told reporters at the Armenian Air Defense Forces and
Aviation Joint C2 Post on Friday.

According to him, the C2 post is fitted with cutting-edge hardware.

"At the same time most top quality systems have been developed by
local institutes," he pointed out.

"The entire Armenian territory, as well as quite large outside areas
enjoy radar coverage. The Armenian airspace is defended very
reliably," Mikhailov said.

He emphasized that the territory was under full control, which meant
that violators would get a proper response.

On Wednesday-Friday Mikhailov chaired a meeting of the CIS Air
Defense Coordination Committee and headed the exercise, involving CIS
air force and air defense commanders in Armenia. Both events were
hosted by Armenian Defense Ministry facilities and the Russian
airbase in Yerevan.
