BAKU: Azeri Officials Confirm Arrest Of Two Soldiers Released From A

AZERI OFFICIALS CONFIRM ARREST OF TWO SOLDIERS RELEASED FROM ARMENIAN CAPTIVITY

Baku, 8 February: A criminal case has been launched against Azerbaijani
soldier Eldaniz Nuriyev. It is based on three articles of the Criminal
Code: 274 – high treason; 332.3 – desertion; 338 – violation of the
rules of combat duty. The Azerbaijani Military Prosecutor’s Office
has confirmed this information to Turan news agency.

Eldaniz Nuriyev was taken captive by Armenians on 31 December 2006
in Fuzuli District and was set free on 16 January 2007.

Another serviceman Vuqar Qaracayev, released from Armenian captivity
on 23 December 2006, is also under arrest.
