YEREVAN, DECEMBER 14, NOYAN TAPAN. Series of books of modern
Armenian literature consisting of Dramaturgy, Prose, Poetry volumes
was published in English. Its presentation took place on December
14. The series of books published with the assistance of the Armenian
General Benevolent Union (AGBU) presents works of about 80 modern
Armenian writers, including Silva Kaputikian, Hrant Matevosian, Perch
Zeytuntsian, David Muradian, Alvard Petrosian and others. In the
words of Levon Ananian, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Armenia,
the publication of the series of books is unprecedented: it will
enable the English-language readers to get acquainted with the works
of modern Armenian writers. "With this unprecedented attempt we prove
that in the period of independence the Armenian literature continues
its best traditions and today we have a high-level and presentable
literature," L.Ananian said.
