FREE EYE OPERATIONS TO BE PERFORMED IN GYUMRI
GYUMRI, AUGUST 11, ARMENPRESS: On the initiative of
Gyumri mayor Vardan Ghukasian, socially unsecured
people of Gyumri who have eye problems will undergo
eye operations free of charge.
Hovhannes Simonian, an oculist of the Yerevan
Malayan medical center, will operate people who have
cataract. Mayor of Gyumri said that old people, those
who are included in the `Paros’ system, people who
have three and more teenage children, members of the
family of killed or handicapped freedom fighters will
undergo operations free of charge.
Around 120 residents of Gyumri have already applied
for having the operation, 25 of them will be operated
free of charge, for the rest the municipality of
Gyumri will pay the 60 percent of the cost of the
operation.
