Muhammad (S) Symphony completed

TEHRAN, July 19 (MNA) — Iranian musician Shahin Farhat finished
composing the Muhammad (S) Symphony on Tuesday.
The current Iranian calendar year was named "The Year of the Great
Prophet Muhammad (S)" by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei during his New Year’s message on March
21, 2006.
Sponsored by the Iranian Academy of Arts, Farhat’s work is one of
the many programs that have been arranged for the commemoration of
the Prophet (S) during the year.
"The symphony has been completed in an appropriate time so the Tehran
Symphony Orchestra has enough time for rehearsals and performances,"
Farhat told ISNA on Wednesday.
"It is better that the symphony is performed in the Great Prophet
Muhammad (S) Year, though every year belongs to him," he added.
Tehran Symphony Orchestra conductor Nader Mashayekhi said earlier that
the orchestra would perform the symphony on the birth anniversary of
the Prophet Muhammad (S) in 2007.
Like his previous works, Farhat has composed the symphony in four
movements. The first movement, which describes the personality of
the Prophet (S), has a powerful beginning and the second is related
to his thoughts and his promulgation of Islam.
The third and fourth movements, which will also feature verses of
poetry, focus on the epic life of the Prophet (S) and his triumphs.
Farhat previously composed the Martyrs Symphony, Iranian Lady Symphony,
Damavand Symphony, and Persian Gulf Symphony, which have all been
recorded with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra in Yerevan.
