12-Year Education System To Be Put In Comprehensive Schools Of Armen

12-YEAR EDUCATION SYSTEM TO BE PUT IN COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOLS OF ARMENIA FROM 2006-2007 ACADEMIC YEAR

YEREVAN, JUNE 6, NOYAN TAPAN. One education program will be implemented
in comprehensive schools of the RA during the 2006-2007 academic year,
but it will be implemented in different ways: 10-year and 11-year
education. 12-year education system will be put in this year for
the first time, and according to it, two types of first grades will
be formed from September 1: ones of 6 and 6.5 years old pupils who
will leave the school correspondingly in 12 and 11 years. Children
born from January 1 to June 30 of 2000 will attend senior first
grade, and ones born from July 1 to December 31 will attend junior
first grade. First grades of 6 years old children will attend 2nd
form in the next academic year, and 6.5 years old will attend 3rd
form. Arising of it, pupils of 3rd-6th grades will be a grade upper by
a flight order. As Onik Vatian, the head of the Yerevan Mayor’s Office
Education Department informed at the June 5 press-conference, senior
and junior first grade pupils will study with different education
programs and different text-books. According to him, after putting in
the 12-years education system, first school leavers will be in 2018,
and there will be no school-leaver in Armenia in 2011 what is porvided
by passing from 10 to 11 years education in 2001.
