ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER LEAVES FOR NEW YORK TO ATTEND UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12. ARMINFO. Armenian Prime Minister Andranik
Margaryan has left for new York today to participate in the 60th
session of UN General Assembly.

Armenian Governmental press-service reports to ARMINFO that the
Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan is also in the delegation.

According to the source, the plenary sitting at the highest level
is fixed for September 14-18 at UN headquarters. In the course of
the plenary sitting, Prime minister Margaryan alongside with foreign
high-ranking officials will participate in a special meeting on the
topic “Financing for Development,” in a meeting of francophones and
other events. Premier Margaryan is expected to speak at the plenary
sitting on September 16.

Within the framework of his visit to New York, Andranik Margaryan is
to meet with the leadership of Millenium Challenges Corporation,
Executive Director of UN Population Fund Thoraya Ahmed Obaid,
Coordinator of UN Development Programme Kamal Dervish, Executive
Director of UNICEF Ann Veneman. The prime minister is expected to
visit the Ground Zero Memorial for the victims of September 11.

Andranik Margaryan is also to meet with the local Armenian Diaspora.

Prime Minister Margaryan and his spouse are expected to participate
in a reception held by George Bush and his spouse. The delegation
will return to Armenia on September 18.
