Armenian flag disappears from territory of CE headquarters

ARMENIAN FLAG DISAPPEARS FROM TERRITORY OF CE HEADQUARTERS

YEREVAN, August 1. /ARKA/. The Armenian national flag has disappeared
from the territory of the CE Headquarters, and the stand of Armenia has
been bent. The RA mission to CE immediately informed the CE security
service of the incident and demanded that the flag be put in its place
as soon as possible. On Sunday morning, Jean Lui Lurani, Director
of the Personal Office of the CE Secretary General, was informed
of the incident. According to the Office, the security service is
responsible for the entrance and inside part of the building. The
camera record only what takes places at the entrance without covering
the nearby territory, including the flags. The territory in question
is controlled by the police, which has been informed.

The flag has been fixed to its place. Nevertheless, the RA Foreign
Office send a note of protest to the RA Secretary General, condemning
the incident and demanding that all the circumstances be investigated
and the culprits be held responsible. The RA Foreign Office is
protesting against these actions and demands that the Council of
Europe take necessary measures to safeguard security in its territory
and prevent acts of vandalism against national symbols of the Ce
