In the NATO headquarters the joint session of the Political-Military
Guiding Committee and the Political Committee with Armenia took
place. It was convened on the initiative of the NATO to discuss
document representing the Armenian Individual Partnership Action
Plan. The document was first discussed in the NATO session on June 16
with the participation of the RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan.

This time the session was presided over by the NATO Secretary General
deputy chief assistant on Security cooperation affairs, special
representative to Southern Caucasus Robert Simons. The RA deputy
Foreign Minister Arman Kirakosyan, deputy Defense Minister Arthur
Aghabekyan, head of the RA mission to NATO Samvel Lazarian, and RA
military representative David Tonoyan formed the Armenian delegation.

A. Kirakosyan and A. Aghabekyan commented on the political direction
of the IPAP, and the issues about the reforms in the defense
field. The representatives of the NATO member states highly
appreciating the document processed by Armenia asked a number of
questions to the Armenian delegation which were all answered.

Before the session the RA delegation had met the Secretary General
Assistant on Defense Policy and planning issues John Colsten and
Robert Simons.
