Russian spokesman stresses importance of Eurasian economic meeting

[Presenter] Today a meeting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian
Economic Community [EAEC] is taking place in the Kremlin. As well as
Russia, this organization includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and
Tajikistan. Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine are attending as observers. A
number of documents are to be signed, including an agreement on
cooperation between the border services of the EAEC countries and a
framework agreement on currency cooperation.

Moscow attaches great importance to this meeting of the EAEC and
attention will mainly be focused on the prospects for the future
development of trade and economic cooperation. The prospects for
creating a customs union will also be considered. And particular
attention will also be paid to the prospects for, or more precisely,
the future accession of EAEC member states to the World Trade
Organization.
