This is reported by the Prosecutor’s Office.

On the instructions of the RA General Prosecutor’s Office, the police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ensured the transfer of A.Z. to Yerevan.

They should not allow Pashinyan’s party to overcome the minimum threshold

Armenia is moving towards crucial parliamentary elections on June 7, and their importance cannot be overstated.

There is a sense of fatigue, frustration, and discontent across the country as a result of eight years of national upheaval, loss, all kinds of failure, and uncertainty about the future.

At the same time, these elections are taking place in a new political environment, where a number of serious and reliable opposition political blocs have already formed, which stand out for their programs, experience and management ability. Separately or together, these alliances can provide a clear parliamentary majority.

In any case, under the conditions of this reality, the goal of the opposition and the Armenian society should not be only to prevent Pashinyan from getting a simple majority, but also to prevent his party from even passing the minimum threshold to enter the parliament.

Ultimately, these elections are about turning the real sentiments of the Armenian society into a clear political outcome. The conditions are there: a disaffected electorate, a disappointed, discouraged and humiliated society, reliable and prospective peace and development programs, as well as a general awareness that the current course is unacceptable.

If the collective opposition and the voters act with clarity and purpose, the result can be not only a simple change of power, but also a radical and complete political restructuring.

Indeed, there is a great opportunity not only to change the government, but also to close once and for all and erase from memory a phase that is already considered the most difficult and humiliating time of the country, and open a new one based on dignity, responsibility, capacity and national recovery.

Former RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan

Not to promise, but to explain

The main mission of the leadership in the coming weeks is to explain, not to promise. These are not ordinary elections, with their importance and also anomalies.

You can promise the nicest things, but it won’t work anymore. All professional polls give almost the same answers, and almost all of them have serious gaps.

The collective public mind is in the realm of subconscious risk perception, guilt, and action.

Consequences of wrong steps

Let’s talk with examples. Against the background of the deliberately created toxic pro-Russian-pro-Western divide, worries about leaving the EAEU or economic confrontation with Russia are intensifying.

The task of the leadership is to patiently and competently explain in which case there will be economic sanctions, their cause and effect relationship, what manifestations they will have, what consequences they will have on the state’s economy and every family. How to avoid it. The simple answer to these simple questions is an open dialogue with one’s own people. This is the honest one.

You have to explain to your own people, to the farmer who grows fruits and vegetables, to the exporter of agricultural products, to the seller, to our hard-living peasants, that their source of income may be closed in one day due to the mistakes of those placed in Yerevan’s cabinets. People generally do not understand, do not imagine, do not believe this.

Our peasants have no idea that if we are unprepared for the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border, then Turkish agricultural products will flow like lava into the country at half the price, and the consequences for our agriculture can be very severe.

Preparing all sectors of the country for the opening of the borders is a serious issue of economic security, and ensuring this is the responsibility of those sitting in Yerevan’s cabinets, which they either turn a blind eye to, or solve another problem. We should talk openly about these issues.

To close the door to war

The next example. the main thesis of the authorities is: Peace (us) and war (everyone else).

In front of this ugly false thesis, the wording “Guaranteed Peace” suddenly appeared. This became the unifying phrase of the opposition, which everyone says, regardless of their competitive moods.

Now we need to patiently and intensively explain the essence of “guaranteed peace”. Our old and new leadership have not talked to their own people for a long time and do not have a good idea of people’s real concerns and thinking.

People think, discuss with each other, listen to all the smart-stupid thoughts that appear in the media, people are concerned about the fate of the country and their families.

People are universally in need of speech. Do not try to deceive or promise worldly goods.

The right thing is to honestly and patiently explain to people that in the near future, Aliyev will make new demands: change of the constitution, “return” of Azerbaijanis, “reconciliation” of the occupation of Sevan, etc. Today’s relatively calm situation will not last long. Aliyev will intensify and set his demands. “Guaranteed peace” is to prevent this, to properly manage today’s “no war” situation, so that there is no escalation, no new demands are made, and the door to war is closed.

Thus, one should speak calmly, respectfully and honestly with one’s own people. The conversation will not be easy. there will be phases of nervousness, despair, and hurt, but this is the only right way.

Iveta Tonoyan presented the main messages of the PAP congress and Gagik Tsarukyan.

Guaranteed peace is to close the door of war once and for all, so that people can plan their peaceful life in their homeland.

The guaranteed peace is that no one says that there will be a war in September, or that there will be a war if one or another demand is not fulfilled. It is not peace, it is living under blackmail.

In the prosperous Armenia we imagine, first of all, the supremacy of justice is the opportunity to have a just country and people to live normally.

Our proposed Armenia should be an Armenia of mutual respect, listening to each other, giving in, and tolerant.

In our proposed Armenia, there are no false divisions: pro-Western, pro-Russian, because that division is beneficial only to our enemies.

Our proposed Armenia is the Armenia of scientific-educational-cultural renaissance. The science-culture that once made the whole world respect us, but today it is impoverished.

The Armenia we offer is a well-lived, prosperous village that gives crops and benefits, not one huddled under loans and problems.

Our proposed Armenia is our pensioners living with a decent pension, who have put their lives on the line for the establishment of our country.

The Armenia we offer is our small and medium business working in a fair environment, which builds the country.

The Armenia we offer is our brilliant youth who will stand up for our country.

Our proposed Armenia is our women, our mothers, our sisters. The best women in the world, who keep both the country and the hearth, and are the most charming.

Armenia has all the opportunities to quickly go on the path of post-war recovery, national revival, and become a modern state. With internal solidarity and the joint work of all competent forces and individuals, this will become a reality.
We will defeat poverty.

MESA criticized Pashinyan and demanded to reinstate Edita Gzoyan

The Middle East Studies Association of North America, MESA, sent a letter to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, demanding the immediate reinstatement of Edita Gzoyan as the director of the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute and guaranteeing the institute’s academic integrity.

The association emphasizes that Gzoyan played a key leading role in promoting new scientific works on the Armenian Genocide, modernizing the museum and integrating young Armenian scientists into the world community of Genocide scholars, and his scientific works were published in leading European and American periodicals.

The association’s open letter also refers to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s press conference on March 12, during which he stated that he was the one who demanded Gzoyan’s resignation because, according to him, US Vice President JD Vance gave a “provocative” book about Artsakh.

“You bypassed the established procedure and appointed one of your staff members to the position of director, and replaced the members of the independent board of trustees with political allies. We understand that Armenia is in a difficult and difficult situation, striving to end the multi-year conflict with Azerbaijan and reach a normalization of relations. However, the erasure of historical memory cannot be conditioned by short-term political needs,” the association’s letter states.

The letter emphasizes that one of the goals of establishing the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute was to counter the denial of the Armenian Genocide. They urge the RA government to correct the unjust interference in scientific independence and to restore the confidence of the international academic community not only in HCTI, but also in Armenia’s commitment to academic freedom and fundamental human rights.

Copies of the letters were also sent to RA KGSMS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, RA Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan, Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Michael O’Flaherty, International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS).
