June: 29, 2026
Since the spring of 2026, the Ukrainian war has entered a new phase of uncertainty and escalation. Ukraine has intensified strikes, targeting Russian oil refineries, oil terminals and fuel transportation infrastructure, including in Crimea. Russian President Vladimir Putin admits that as a result of the Ukrainian strikes, there have been problems with the energy infrastructure and some lack of fuel, but he has insisted that the situation is “not critical”.
“We are now noticing a certain shortage, but it is not critical,” the Russian president said. According to him, the Ukrainian strikes “create problems, that’s obvious.” At the same time, Putin asserted that the damaged energy facilities “are being restored quite quickly” and the system is working “with a large margin of strength”. To overcome the lack of fuel, according to Putin, it is necessary to accelerate the repair of oil refineries, ensure the required import of fuel and better protect these facilities with anti-aircraft defenses. Putin also said that the fuel supply in Crimea is for several days, and the supplies will be increased by land and sea routes.
Putin also said that Russia should accelerate the production of air defense systems. At the same time, he insisted that Russian forces are moving forward in Ukraine, and rejected the possibility of concessions on the terms of the ceasefire or negotiations.
168.amin a conversation with Russian analyst Alexander Khramchikhin said that the Ukrainian side’s large-scale attacks on Russia’s deep facilities, in particular the Krasnodar and Yaroslavl oil refineries, indicate a fundamental change in the logic of warfare, and the “40-day influence operation” approved by Zelensky is aimed at paralyzing Russia’s economic infrastructure and increasing psychological pressure, which forces Russia to abandon more restrained rhetoric.
According to him, Russia’s reaction naturally changes according to the situation, this reaction implies new political and military decisions, rhetorical changes and a change in the foreign policy regime.
“The messages of the Kremlin addressed to Ukraine, Europe, warn about the consequences of further provision of military aid.
Russia’s determination to maintain its current political strategy and security threats to Europe show that Moscow is ready to take military operations to a new level, even though Russia is also suffering losses and experiencing energy difficulties.
Russia has faced its own challenges. The vulnerability of the economic infrastructure, combined with the long-term war, forces Moscow to over-concentrate resources and intensify its policy towards Europe. This leads to the focus of Russia’s foreign policy on a single topic, where multilateralism is sacrificed to security.
The relations with many countries, including Armenia, are pushed into the tertiary or quaternary ranks, especially when serious cracks have appeared in the relations with Armenia due to the desire for European integration. Here, Russia is determined not to tolerate the West’s policy, demanding a clear decision from the Armenian authorities on the EAEU issue.
The more the situation on the front worsens, the more Russia approaches, not only to Ukraine, but also to Ukraine’s European supporters. And Europe actively cooperates with Armenia. Russia demands an orientation from RA, because there is a perception that RA remains in EAEU only in order not to lose economic advantages on the way to EU integration. This is unacceptable for Russia,” said Alexander Khramchikhin.
It should be noted that today Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that the situation is unacceptable for EAEU members, when RA enshrines its intention to join the EU in its legislation, while continuing to enjoy all the benefits and advantages of EAEU membership.
“Therefore, to be honest, we don’t quite understand why the Armenian leadership is in no hurry to ask the people of the country their attitude towards this very important issue for them. Perhaps, I don’t rule out that there are certain conjunctural considerations for this slowness, right?” said the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.

Forgotten June 29. Why has the government increased the number of missing persons?
June: 29, 2026
June 29 was once celebrated in RA as the Day of the Missing Freedom Fighter.
1992 on this very day, June 29, the fighters of the “Arabo”, “Artsiv 13”, “Zeytun”, “Jraberd”, “Armavir” detachments participating in the combat operations of Leninavan, Haykajur (Hasan-Ghaya) villages of the Martakert region of the NKR remained under siege, and the fate of 79 freedom fighters is still unknown.
Every year on this day, high-ranking former authorities, in particular, the military leadership, led by the Minister of Defense, visited the Yrablur military pantheon, paid their respects and laid flowers at the monument erected in memory of the missing freedom fighters.
There were years when that day was also marked with a memorial service. Moreover, active search work was carried out at that time, they even started taking DNA samples from the relatives of the missing persons, the RA Ministries of Defense and Health, the Armenian office of the International Committee of the Red Cross participated in the process.
After the change of power in 2018, in fact, June 29 was not emphasized, perhaps the families of those who disappeared in the first war were left out of attention.
But the most tragic is the war of September 2020.
In one of our analyzes in May this year we have touched on to the numerical differences in the number of persons missing or having a similar status in the 2020 44-day war. In particular, in November 2025 NA Speaker Alen Simonyan had announced. “Unknown 191 the person’s location, including: 172 serviceman and 19 of a civilian”.
And in May of this year, the same Alen Simonyan noted՝ «The number of missing persons is approximately 160.”
In turn, in March of this year, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Srbuhi Galyan answered the question of Garnik Danielyan, deputy of the Armenia faction in the National Assembly: reported.
“According to official data, we have 195 missing persons, 175 of whom are servicemen, and the rest are civilians.”
Moreover, Nikol Pashinyan during the campaign during a dispute with obstetrician-gynecologist Arpine Soghoyan stated: “197 people are missing.” It should be noted that Soghoyan is the sister of Hrant Papikyan, the lieutenant colonel of the Military Medical Service who went missing in the 44-day war.
Agree that “over 190” and “about 160” create a different digital image:
As for the number of missing persons in the First War, according to the recorded data, it is about 800. Nikol Pashinyan in 2022 had announced.
“We also talked about the fate of those who went missing in the first war and the fate of those who went missing in the 44-day war. Azerbaijan constantly talks about what they have around after the first Karabakh war 4000 missing I want to emphasize that, however, the Armenian side also has missing people, according to official figures 777 We have a missing person. An attempt is made to present that the Armenian side has not taken concrete steps in this matter either. I want to inform that during the last 1 year, the Azerbaijani side has been transferred to the side, which is considered missing from the first war 108 human body. We are preparing more in the coming days 2 transfer body”.
It is interesting, isn’t it, that Pashinyan does not record any such facts regarding the missing persons or persons considered missing from the Armenian side.
And during his rule, the Armenian side has missing or missing people not only from the time of the 44-day war, but also as a result of the complete depopulation of Artsakh in 2023. Only as a result of the explosion of the Stepanakert fuel warehouse, about 2 dozen people are missing.
Accordingly, the occasion mentioned above and similar occasions are a good opportunity to raise these issues publicly, to remind about them, as the Azerbaijani side does, which does not even wait for special occasions.
Hikmet Hajiyev, a constructive partner of the current authorities of RA, Ilham Aliyev’s assistant, always remembers their missing persons from the time of the first Artsakh war.
Last: the case it was about two weeks ago.
In particular, he noted:
“As a result of the ongoing search, excavation and remains identification procedures, it was exhumed 889 human remains, identified through DNA analysis and forensics 313 missing, huh? 226 “person” was also handed over to the families for a dignified burial.”
Hajiyev also added: “in the “liberated” territories of Azerbaijan 32 a mass grave was discovered.”
In this context, it is worth reminding that on February 7, 2025, a meeting of the interdepartmental commission dealing with the issues of prisoners, hostages and missing (whereabouts unknown) persons of the Republic of Armenia and the state commission for issues of prisoners of war, hostages and missing citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan took place on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan. the meeting:
During the meeting, the parties exchanged opinions on the issues of clarifying the fate of the missing persons and agreed that the discussions between the commissions will continue by mutual consent.
Next such meeting had taken place In early June 2025. And the parties referred to the meeting of the representatives of the commissions dealing with the issues of missing persons of Armenia and Azerbaijan humanitarian issues related to clarifying the fate of missing persons during the conflict, the possibilities of information exchange, as well as the organization and coordination of search operations were considered.
The parties also stressed the importance of continued dialogue in the humanitarian field and reaffirmed their willingness to continue contacts for the benefit of the families of the missing persons.
Later, in a conversation with journalists, Armen Abazyan, director of the National Security Service at that time, said: “We have a preliminary agreement that we will jointly carry out search operations.”
Days after this On June 18, 2025, Pashinyan decided Armen Abazyan was dismissed from the position of the director of the RA National Security Service, and he was replaced by Andranik Simonyan, who went to Baku in September of this year and was there September 19-21.
We cannot say to what extent Armen Abazyan’s agreements with Azerbaijan regarding missing persons, including joint search operations, are being implemented. But it is a fact that after that, Azerbaijan again announced the location of the relics and remains of persons considered missing during the first war. Something that we have not heard from the Armenian side. Maybe something is being done, we don’t know, we’ll just be happy.
By the way, in the 44-day war, Baku has 6 missing persons.
Returning to the first war, to the volunteer squads of that time, we should add that during the “trial” of Baku, as we wrote reference was made to the Armenian volunteer squads: “Arabo”, “Tigran the Great”, “David of Sassoon”.
Moreover, Azerbaijani minval.az about the “Arabo” detachment and its commander article: published with the caption: “Bloody” commander is roaming freely in Armenia, Yerevan should hand him over to Baku.
Is this the reason why the RA authorities do not remember June 29 and its background?
And on June 27-28, 1993, one year after the fighters of the “Arabo”, “Artsiv 13”, “Zeytun”, “Jraberd”, “Armavir” squads participating in the combat operations of the villages of the Martakert region of Artsakh were encircled and disappeared, on June 27-28, 1993, the city of Martakert and not only was liberated.
During the “trial” of Baku, not a single liberation operation of the first war was neglected. And Davit Ishkhanyan, who was held in Baku during one of the sessions stated that “participated in the operation to take the upper part of Martakert”.
General Davit Manukyan as well had transferred The Azerbaijani propaganda machine, in another session, announced that “participated in combat operations and was wounded on February 28, 1993 in the direction of Martakert”.
Before the depopulation of Artsakh Martakert had heroic positions, gave heroes there. During the 44-day war of 2020, the Armenian army managed to keep Martakert, the positions. They were heroically kept even after the 44-day war, when a difficult situation arose around the positions, when after the end of the war, Nor Maragha, Nor Aygestan, Nor Seysula, Nor Karmiravan, Nor Haykajur, Hovtashen and Nor Jraberd settlements of the Martakert region came under the control of Azerbaijan. At that time, the leadership of Artsakh conditioned this with the fact of handing over Aghdam region with the November 9 document.
“Since this area was part of the Aghdam region during the Soviet years, it seems that these villages are in the logic of demarcation.” Artak Beglaryan, the former human rights defender of Artsakh, explained.
This once again confirms that during the 44-day war we lost less territory during the actual military operations than outside of it.
P.S. When the article was already ready, from the Azerbaijani press let us know that the representatives of non-governmental organizations of Azerbaijan, the relatives of “Khojalu Genocide victims”, the relatives of victims and those who died from explosions of “Armenian mines” published an open letter that international initiatives should not create an image of Ruben Vardanyan as a victim. At the same time, they raised the issue of missing persons from the time of the first war in Azerbaijan. In other words, the RA authorities should have raised such a question today.

There was no scheduled meeting with the President of the Russian Federation. Pashinyan
June: 29, 2026
There was no scheduled meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Nikol Pashinyan announced this after the meeting of the board of the “Civil Agreement” party.
Let’s remind that on June 3, during the pre-election campaign in Martuni, Pashinyan said that after the RA NA elections, he will go to Moscow to meet the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He mentioned that during the telephone conversation with Putin on June 1, they agreed that after the elections he would go to Moscow, have a meeting and resolve all current issues.
“The term “short time” of the meetings of the leaders of the countries is not a week or a day. In other words, there will be contacts in the near future. there was no appointed day,” Pashinyan announced today.
When the journalists asked if that meeting will be within the framework of the EAEU intergovernmental session to be held in August, he said:
“There is a meeting of the intergovernmental council in the EAEU, in which only the prime ministers participate, the presidents do not participate.”
As for Russia’s export restrictions and their impact on the RA economy, Pashinyan said that if the RA economic activity index was 11 percent in May of this year, then it was more than 8 percent in January-May.
“You know, there are always some effects on the economy: one branch becomes active, the other becomes passive,” he said.

Ahead of the NATO summit. the Turkish military-industrial complex and Ankar
June: 29, 2026
After 22 years, the NATO summit scheduled for July 7-8 will take place again on Turkish soil. On the eve of that meeting, the question of the military potential of Turkey, which is the second power in the North Atlantic Alliance and traditionally plays a critical role on the southern borders of the alliance, was updated.:
Against the background of the rise of the national military-industrial complex, Turkish companies are especially trying to show their Western partners that they can meet NATO’s requirements with a wide spectrum of nomenclature: in unmanned systems, anti-aircraft defenses, protected communication equipment, radio-electronic warfare technologies, naval systems, etc.
It is no coincidence that the other day Gerguni, the head of the Defense Industry Department attached to the administration of the President of Turkey, came to light. the interview to the Polish periodical, where all the important emphases were very clearly laid out. “Turkey is ready to assume greater responsibility in NATO’s defense-industrial ecosystem:
Our message to our allies is clear. a strong Turkish defense industry is a strong North Atlantic alliance,” said the head of the structure responsible for the development of the national military-industrial complex. He also emphasized that Turkey’s goal is to more effectively support NATO’s deterrence and defense and to establish itself as a strategic partner of the Alliance, which can act not only as a reliable supplier, but also help in training, maintenance, modernization and joint production and technological cooperation under appropriate conditions.
From above it can be concluded that Ankara intends to use the upcoming summit not only to demonstrate the military potential, but also the industrial supply chain of NATO kto become the internal ring: A:l:Yancey belligerent anti-Russian statements to the landscape:
At the same time, it must be admitted that the outlines of the national infrastructure necessary for this are indeed forming are: If 10 years ago, Turkey’s military exports amounted to 1.67 billion dollars, then according to the results of 2025, this indicator has increased to 10 billion dollars and promises to increase according to the indicator. only in the first four months of the current year it exceeded the indicators of the same period of the previous year by 28%.
The development of missile potential is considered by the Turkish leadership as one of the key tools for strengthening the country’s regional influence. With limited access to Western aviation technology and continued risks of sanctions pressure, Ankara is seeking to compensate for potential lags in pilot aviation by developing high-precision missile complexes and strike drone systems. The designs of the weapons being created allow Turkey to form its own outline of non-nuclear strategic deterrence and to ensure the hitting of targets at a considerable depth of the territory of a potential enemy without the involvement of aviation.
In the future, increasing the missile range to 1,000-2,000 km will allow the Turkish leadership to keep almost the entire Middle East, Eastern Mediterranean, North Africa and a large part of the European region at risk.:
The SAHA arms exhibition held in Istanbul in May became a vivid example of the revival of the phoenix of the Turkish defense industry, the quantitative results of which speak for themselves. About 1,700 companies from more than 120 countries, 182 signed agreements with a total value of 8 billion (of which 6 billion are Turkish exports). The country displayed the full spectrum of modern military technology, from missiles and drones to naval systems and smart targeting devices. Turkey also demonstrated the first long-range ballistic missile Yıldırımhan, new models of sea and land drones, Expanded range of air defense means.
Actually, according to military commentatorsin:, during the five days of the exhibition, the country was able to publicly announce itself as a medium and: manufacturer of high price segment weapons and: salesman, a role he aspired to since the late 1980s.
Moreover, despite the fact that Turkey is increasingly confidently acting as an independent player in the global arms market, its defense industry faces a number of problems that require attention at least in the medium term. First of all, it should be emphasized the continued strong dependence on the import of components, which does not allow to rely only on one’s own forces. In addition, practice shows that the issue of shortage of specialists is as acute as before. Although the industry is actively developing, there is a shortage of highly qualified personnel, which are necessary for the implementation of large projects. The figures are not disclosed publicly, and the pro-government media prefers to “shut up” this fact, but opposition circles report the outflow of promising talents to other countries (first of all, South Korea and the UAE, where salary categories are significantly higher). It is also important that in order to maintain competitiveness, it is necessary to constantly update the product range and adapt to changes in global security policies. The strength of the still emerging Turkish engineering school does not always allow this to happen.
The growth of the Turkish defense industry in the context of Russian interests gives rise to two conclusions.
On the one hand, the “feeding” of the necessary resources (primarily financial and material) by Western partners to Russia’s Black Sea neighbor cannot help but worry, because under the slogans of building an independent independent industry, accelerated militarization (militarization) is taking place near the country’s southern borders. In addition, in the future, the growth of Turkish export activity may lead to direct competition. Ankara’s partnership network is expanding, including at the expense of markets that until recently were considered to be in the orbit of exclusive Russian interests. In recent years, Turkey has signed about 90 intergovernmental agreements on military-technical cooperation, which is comparable to the base developed by the USSR with the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement in the 1960s and 1970s. Algeria, which has been a perennial showcase and market for Russian weapons, included Turkish drones for the first time in 2025.
On the other hand, Ankara is using an intermediary between NATO and Russia position՝ as a resource that allows him to bring his products to new markets and move towards the realization of his own pragmatic goals, themoreover, not focusing exclusively on political-strategic solidarity and following the rule of priority of business relations.
On the eve of the summit, the aspect of NATO’s presence on Turkish soil came to the forefront of discussions. In the spring, additional batteries of Patriot anti-aircraft missiles were deployed at the Incirlik military base, in June a German military unit, a Patriot battery and 150 servicemen, arrived in southeast Turkey, and the Italian SAMP-T anti-aircraft missile system was deployed in Konya province “in order to strengthen NATO’s air defense”. In Adana, preparations are being made to host the headquarters of the new multinational NATO corps, which is being formed on the command base of the 6th corps of the Turkish ground forces.
The new NATO Naval Command headquarters in Istanbul raises the most questions: Turkey has already started the implementation of the project. According to the Ministry, in August of last year, the main staff was formed, which consists entirely of Turkish servicemen, who will become the core of the command. Later, 14 countries announced their intention to contribute to the formation of the structure, although only the Black Sea littoral states, including Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria, will take part in the naval operation. Once operational, the HQ is expected to be integrated into the broader NATO command and planning system, given that major sponsors and participating nations are largely They are allies of the Alliance.
It also added fuel to the fire The latest from the Nordic Monitor online magazine publication, in which it is said that a document signed by Defense Minister Güler has come to the editor’s disposal, from which it follows that Turkey plays a leading role in a multinational structure known as «A coalition of those who want to help Ukraine», and within the framework of that initiative, Ankara is establishing a naval command headquarters in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, the Bosphorus.in with a view overlooking: Thus, the analysts of the Internet portal conclude that Turkey is moving to the fore in ensuring security with the support of NATO, which is aimed equally at supporting Ukraine and strengthening the influence of the West in the Black Sea region.
Although Turkish authorities insist the new initiative will remain under national command and operate in full compliance with the Montreux Convention, details of the document released under Guler’s signature point to a much closer integration with NATO plans than what Ankara previously agreed to in the Black Sea region. Of additional concern are indications that key operational arrangements have already been discussed and refined with the participation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
If what has been published is true, it can hardly claim to be a sensation, because once again it only confirms the well-known course of Turkey’s Euro-Atlantic solidarity, which Turkish politicians have repeatedly announced publicly.
Moreover, such an arrangement, if implemented, will embody the assumption circulating in expert circles that the US is “delegating” its leadership powers in the region to Turkey, the Middle Eastand:phasing out Washington’s direct involvement in exit affairs and: reduction to the landscape։ And if that publication is a deliberate “stuffing”, then it indicates that Turkey’s deliberate confrontation with Russia continues, as a result of which it will be more difficult for Ankara to balance between Moscow and NATO.
In any case, the upcoming summit, in addition to the current topical issues, promises to be a unique “litmus test” that will show not only the priorities of the Euro-Atlantic community, but also the main directions of Turkey’s transforming role in the regional and global architecture of Western security.

Putin does not answer Pashinyan: Ту…Ту
June: 29, 2026
Today, Nikol Pashinyan answered journalists’ questions at the CP office. Nikol Pashinyan replied to the journalists’ question about when the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which Pashinyan announced on June 1, will take place.
“There was no planned meeting, and the words “short time” of the meetings of the leaders of the countries do not mean a week or a day. In other words, there will be contacts in the near future, there was no scheduled meeting that was canceled,” he said.
Regarding the observation that he mentioned the second half of June earlier during the pre-election campaign, Pashinyan clarified that it referred to a different topic, but added: “I am sure there will be a meeting in the near future.”
By the way, according to the sources of 168.am, Nikol Pashinyan sent several requests for a meeting with Putin through the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but the Putin administration ordered the Russian Foreign Ministry not to respond to those letters. Moreover, according to the same sources, Pashinyan also tried 3 times to organize a telephone conversation through the appropriate channel (channel communication) providing communication between Putin’s administration and his staff, but the calls remained unanswered.
According to our diplomatic sources, if 3-4 weeks pass from the MFA application and there is no response, it is automatically considered a rejection.

168: Nicole, you didn’t win, you don’t have 50% 1. Gyumri is at the throat, wants a knee
June: 29, 2026
In the “Pressing” program Satik Seyranyan the guest is political scientist, historian Gagik Hambaryan is.
The main theses of the interview are below.
- A person like Nicole never accepts defeat. In many cases, we have seen that the opposition wins in local government elections, but after some time, Nikol usurps the power in various ways. Gyumri is sitting in Nikol’s throat, and he took his defeat in Gyumri hard. Now the authorities are spreading fake news as if there is a crisis and permissiveness of the government in Gyumri. There is no such thing. Such fake news is spread to try to take power. I think that Nikol will try to steal the 2-3 mandates that do not satisfy him from the teams of Martun Grigoryan and Vardan Ghukasyan. it will allow itself not to organize a new election. At the moment, their candidate is again Sarik Minasyan. If the mandate theft fails, they will move on to the next step. He is ready to take any step to seize power in Gyumri:
- Nikol, who said at the government meeting that the roads in Gyumri’s Ani district are in a shameful state, yes, they are in a shameful state, but they have not been rebuilt, because the results of the Gyumri elections were not under the nose of Nikol Anho, and he should have fulfilled his obligations, which he did not do. The same applies to Shirakatsi Street.
- There is no road from Shirak region to Turkey and there has never been. The connection with Turkey is only by railway: Gyumri-Akhurik-Akyaka-Kars. But the issue is not even the road. the Turks generally have no intention of opening the Armenian-Turkish border:
- As for the road construction projects in Gyumri, especially the construction of Rustaveli street, he personally voted against those projects as a deputy during the previous government, but when he came to power, he attributed to himself the projects started by the former, to build the roads, moreover, he was happy to come, walk around, he attributed to himself…
- Nikol despises any election result, any law, Constitution… He tries to seize the power with absolute lies, manipulations and forgeries. If 3 sessions of the Council of Elders do not take place, there will be a crisis. They have already aborted one session when they searched the house of Karen Simonyan, head of the “Mother Armenia” faction of the Gyumri Council of Elders… it is not excluded that they will again take someone to the Investigative Committee at the next session. This is a legal bespredelle served by Nicole Anhog. The house of Karen Simonyan, head of the “Mother Armenia” faction, is searched at the time of the meeting of the Gyumri Council of Elders in order to disrupt the session of the Council of Elders. They will fail 3 times, questionn: they will solve it the way they want:
- We live in a country where the law enforcement system serving this government can accuse Vardan Ghukasyan of cannibalism.
- Nikol is trying to use the factor of the depressed society after the NA elections to make Gyumri a CP, and this is in the case that Gyumri has never had a CP leader. You see, Martun Grigoryan’s son was arrested the other day, it is not excluded that he and his younger son will be arrested as well and this will be used as a pressure tool to steal people from his team…
- Nikol can initiate a case against any person. He also initiated cases against me, and through mediation, he is doing everything to create financial complications for me…
- Nikol probably only enjoyed losing to Aliyev. In other cases, he does not like to lose with dignity.
- By saying “Artsakh is Armenia and that’s it” you destroy the entire negotiation process. And if you leave the process, you legitimize all your opponent’s moves, including aggression. The surrender of Artsakh was a joint operation between Nikol and Aliyev. Artsakh was planned to surrender during the 44-day war, but at that time, the Russians made a move on horseback, which remained incomplete. Then they tried to depopulate Artsakh through a blockade. that didn’t work either. Then they saw that even in the conditions of that famine, the people of Artsakh continued to live in Artsakh, they took Artsakh in a mini war and depopulated it.:
- Nicole knows very well how much her real votes are. And his hysteria is caused by that. Even in the face of so many repressions and falsifications, he did not have the desired result.
- Some “oppositions” play on the power field, using the targeting of the opposition by some section of the public against them. The opposition must work together.
- According to Nikol, the legitimacy of the government is 50% 1. He announced this during one of the briefings. Does he have that many votes according to the results of the last parliamentary elections? Of course not. So Nicole, you didn’t win, you don’t have 50% 1:
- CEC President Vahagn Hovakimyan openly stated yesterday in the CC that the cancellation of election results in 3 precincts did not affect the votes of PAP. Meanwhile, it is Daniel Ioannisyan, a supporter of the government, not opposition lawyer Aram Orbelyan, opposition citizen Gagik Hambaryan, or opposition media editor Satik Seyranyan, who say that if the results of the three precincts were not canceled, the PAP would have 4.003% of votes and would pass to the Parliament. And he got that number by a simple mathematical calculation.
- If PAP enters the parliament, it is very important to take parliamentary mandates, but if PAP does not pass, and other forces do what the opposition MPs did during the 8th convocation of the National Assembly, then taking mandates is not right. When taking a mandate, you must have a plan. Failure to do so would somewhat delegitimize Parliament. You have to tell Nicole all the time, you You don’t have 50% 1, you’re not legit like he does. This is called drip diplomacy.
- After 16 years in power, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was defeated and lives quietly in Hungary because he never acted against the interests of his country. After becoming an oppositionist, Nikol cannot live peacefully in Armenia, that’s why power is a matter of life and death for him.
- Finances in Nikoli’s Armenia should be in the hands of people who will meekly fulfill the demands of Baku and Ankara.
- There is a word and there is a deed. Russians’ words and deeds contradict each other. Let’s remember that after the war, the partisans were hiding in the crevices, they came out like mushrooms after Putin’s infamous statement when he said: “Никол Воваевич не предатель”. They saved Nikol’s power in 2021. The Russian wrapped Nikol around our neck in 2020. after November 9.
- The Turanian road, that TRIPP, is a program developed in Turkey 120 years ago, which is now reincarnated by Erdogan. If the Russians did not think about us, they would at least think about themselves, that they would not allow the existence of the TRIPP Pan-Turan road taken under the American flag.
Regarding TRIPP, there are minimum and maximum plans, the minimum is the connection of the Turkish worlds, the maximum is the disintegration of the major regional superpowers, Iran, Russia and China. Doesn’t Russia realize that the South Caucasus becomes uncontrollable by it, that they will lose the North Caucasus later? Wasn’t the Chechen war a lesson when Russia almost lost the South Caucasus, and only Putin’s coming to power saved the situation? Yakuts are peoples of Turkish origin… Russia is threatened with disintegration if this continues. doesn’t Russia understand that they can reach as far as Siberia… Putin’s corrupt administration cooperates with anti-Russian Godnisanovs, Ilevs, Aliyev’s ex-brother-in-law Agalarovs for short-term benefits… All these are dollar billionaires and serve non-Russian interests. I want to understand what else someone like Naryshkin will have to do against Russia in order for Putin to get rid of him. How can a man like Putin claim that Erdogan is his friend? As they say, “I don’t believe the words of Moscow.”
- I have said and I repeat: Nikoli was wrapped around our neck by Russia after November 9, 2020. in Armenia in 2018w:Having participated in that color revolution with the West, how did the workers of the institutions controlled by the Russians flock to the street and towards Nikol?
I understand that any country has its interests, and that’s normal, and we should have our interests, but the most important question here is: we can criticize everyone, but we also understand that Russia and Iran have vital interests here, and it is in Russia and Iran’s best interest to have a strong Armenia.
Thinking about its fate, let Russia think about us a little. Does Russia think about itself? I just mentioned what will happen to Russia as a result of the same neo-panturanism and neo-pan-Ottomanism policy and the Western patronage behind it. Well, let Russia, thinking a little about itself, also think about the Armenian people, because we really haven’t been bad during these 200 years.
The same Russia 1813 and 20, 1826․finally took Eastern Armenia under his control.
- We have to record with pain that our society suffers from historical amnesia.
- At least those states that think about themselves, by thinking about that, can also save us in this region.
- I have never been anti-Russian, on the contrary. I am also categorically against false anti-Russianism or false pro-Westernism. Yes, they try to blame everything on the Russians, say, for example, they say that in 1918, 1921, the Russians gave our lands to the Turks under the Moscow and Kars treaties. Before the Treaty of Moscow, on March 14, 1921, 2 days ago in London, how did the West finally bury the Armenian issue, that is, what is allowed to the West, is not allowed to Russia.
I am also categorically against this anti-Russian attitude. we must analyze the historical processes as Armenians, as independent Armenians, also referring to the facts of how the West sold us to the Turks after the Treaty of Sevres on August 10, 1920. What did he get from the Turks? How did the same French take the mandate that they should form an independent Armenian state in Cilicia, they ran away in the end, sold out in the fall of 1921, signed a secret agreement with the Turks in Ankara and left. But that contract is still valid…

RFE/RL – Iranian Firms To Build Key Tunnel In Armenia
The Armenian government has contracted two Iranian companies to build Armenia’s longest tunnel that will be part of a strategically important highway leading to the Iranian border.
Work on the 7.2-kilometer tunnel officially began at the weekend with a ground-breaking ceremony led by Iran’s Vice President Hamid Pourmohammadi and Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigorian.
The $400 million project co-financed by the government and the Russian-led Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development is part of an ongoing reconstruction of the main highway passing through Syunik, the Armenian region bordering Iran. It is due to be completed by 2032.
The tunnel will cut through Armenia’s highest mountain pass and thus significantly shorten travel time between the two neighboring countries. It will link up to a 32-kilometer section of the Syunik highway leading to the sole Armenian-Iranian border crossing. Iranian companies have been upgrading that section as part of a separate $215 million contract signed with the Armenian side in 2023. Pourmohammadi and Grigorian inspected the ongoing roadworks before the ceremony.
Another, 60-kilometer section of the mountainous road is to be constructed from scratch. The government has borrowed around $550 million for that purpose from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.
Pourmohammadi met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian in Yerevan before attending the ceremony in Syunik and thus underlining the region’s geopolitical significance to Iran. Tehran has repeatedly warned against attempts to strip the Islamic Republic of its common border with Armenia in the face Azerbaijan’s demands for a land corridor to its Nakhichevan exclave passing through Syunik.
Iranian officials have voiced concerns over Yerevan’s decision last year to open such a transit corridor that would be run by the United States. They fear that the transit arrangement could endanger Iran’s border with Armenia and lead to U.S. security presence there.
According to an Armenian government statement, Pashinian discussed with the Iranian vice president not only bilateral economic ties but also “the processes of unblocking regional communications routes.” The statement did not give details. The Iranian side did not issue a readout of the talks.

Israeli Government Recognizes Armenian Genocide (UPDATED)
- Ruzanna Stepanian
After decades of resistance, Israel has moved to officially recognize the 1915 Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey, prompting strong condemnation from Ankara.
The Israeli cabinet unanimously approved on Sunday a corresponding resolution which was proposed by Foreign Minister Foreign Gideon Saar and must be approved by the country’s parliament.
“Despite the extensive and unambiguous historical documentation, the Armenian Genocide remains to this day the subject of an institutionalized campaign of denial and minimization, including a manipulative rewriting of history, mainly by the Turkish government,” Saar told the cabinet. “It is widely believed that the Ottoman Empire committed crimes amounting to genocide in a systematic manner, with the aim of destroying the Armenian people.”
Recognizing the deaths of some 1.5 Armenian subjects of the Ottoman Empire as genocide is “both a moral and historical duty” for the Jewish state, he said in remarks cited by the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Saar stressed the fact that 32 other countries, including the United States, have already done so.
Successive Israeli governments had for decades opposed Armenian genocide recognition lest it antagonize Turkey, a former security partner of Israel. Turkish-Israeli relations have steadily deteriorated over the past decade. They hit a new low during Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
Condemning the current Israeli government’s move on Monday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said it is designed to cover up Israel’s “genocide against Gazans.” It said Ankara will continue to seek an “end to Israel’s expansionist and destabilizing policies in the region.”
There was no official reaction from Armenia and its Foreign Ministry, in particular, as of Monday evening. Justice Minister Srbuhi Galian said she has “no desire” to comment on the development when she was approached by reporters. Two pro-government lawmakers affiliated with an Armenia-Israel parliamentary friendship group also pointedly declined to comment.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian declared last year that his government will not strive to get more countries and international bodies to recognize the genocide. Pashinian’s stance, which reflects his rapprochement with Ankara, was denounced by his political opponents as well as Armenian Diaspora groups that have long been at the forefront of the recognition campaign.
Predictably, Armenian opposition figures hailed the Israeli government’s decision while acknowledging its connection with Israel’s tensions with Turkey. Artur Khachatrian of the opposition Hayastan alliance said it is “in our national interest.”
“We positively assess the proposed resolution and expect that the Knesset will vote for it,” said Khachatrian. “The whole world must recognize and condemn the Armenian genocide. And it is very amazing that there are only a few states in the world that say this process should be stopped: Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan.”
It was not clear whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government will try to push the resolution through the Knesset before the Israeli parliament goes into recess on July 16 ahead of general elections expected in October.
Netanyahu first indicated a change in his country’s policy on the Armenian genocide issue in an August 2025 interview with an American podcaster. He said he believes the World War One-era massacres by the Ottoman Turks of Armenians as well as Assyrians and Greeks constituted genocide.

RFE/RL – Russia Insists On Role In ‘Trump Route’ Through Armenia
A senior Russian diplomat on Monday cast doubt on the Armenian government’s ability to open a U.S.-administered transit corridor for Azerbaijan without Russia’s and Iran’s consent.
Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin reiterated Moscow’s desire to have a role in the planned Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) that would run along the Armenian-Iranian border.
“The ‘Trump Route’ will pass through an area guarded by Russian border guards, who have been guarding Armenia’s borders with Turkey and Iran for decades alongside their Armenian counterparts,” he told RTVI, a Russian-language broadcaster. “So one way or another, Russia’s opinion will have to be taken into account, as will the opinion of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Therefore, we believe the project would only benefit from Russian participation.”
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian agreed to the transit arrangement during his talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House last August. Although the deal is seen by analysts as another blow to Russian presence in Armenia, Russia’s initial reaction to it was rather cautious. Moscow indicated afterwards that it wants to be involved in the TRIPP.
Yerevan is even less likely to accept such involvement now that it is facing unprecedented Russian economic and political pressure over its pro-Western foreign policy. Moscow banned imports of Armenian agricultural products and beverages and threatened to impose more economic sanctions in the run-up to Armenia’s June 7 parliamentary elections.
Trump cited Pashinian’s commitment to the TRIPP when he endorsed the Armenian premier for reelection on May 28. Under a U.S.-Armenian agreement signed in the following days, the U.S. government is to gain a 74 percent stake in a joint venture that will build and manage a railway, a road, energy supply lines and other infrastructure connecting Azerbaijan to its Nakhichevan exclave.
Galuzin claimed that prospects for the implementation of the TRIPP project are “uncertain” also because it is opposed by Iran.
“I think that after the unprovoked aggression against Iran by the U.S. and Israel Iran is unlikely to be thrilled about the presence of the United States of America right on its northern border,” he said.
Tehran expressed concern over the TRIPP even before the war. Iranian diplomats repeated those concerns late last month.
