External image through internal barriers

What will the government of Georgia, for example, think, seeing how Nikol Pashinyan arbitrarily forbids the Catholicos of All Armenians to go to Georgia and participate in the funeral of Ilya II?

And that Nikol Pashinyan forbids, not the court, I think no sane person has any doubt here.

So, what will the government of Georgia think about it? I am not saying that Tbilisi has nothing else to think about and should think about it. Simply, it is indisputable that they will be interested, and therefore a tacit position will be formed.

What will it look like? Will they think that Nikol Pashinyan is a very “strong guy” or, on the contrary, will they appreciate how narrow-minded Pashinyan really is? The whole issue is that such internal episodes are also of great importance for the external image and external perceptions of the leaders of the state. A person cannot be narrow-minded inside and broad-minded outside.

And taking into account the fact that Georgia in the conditions of the current geopolitical realities has a special significance for Armenia, although it has always been so, it is extremely important how the government of Armenia will be perceived by the government of Georgia simply in its descriptive sense.

There is no doubt that Tbilisi has a “positional” advantage, for very obvious reasons. And this is where the issue of perceptions and attitude at the personal level becomes very important for the balance of relations and possible discussions. And this is not at all a question measured by toasts or playing the “udarnik”. It’s all primitive entourage. In practice, perceptions are dictated, derived from deeper behavioral contours, which are expressed perhaps more in the inner life of the behavior of the given government.

Fear of losing power dictates political rhetoric

Nikol Pashinyan, without naming names and without providing concrete facts, accuses some oppositionists of not understanding politics and “inciting war” in the fall with their statements (if they win the elections).

Maybe he wants to honestly admit that he didn’t understand anything from that “damned politics” either. That is why he made statements and steps that inadvertently “brought” Artsakh and Armenia into various wars and catastrophic losses.

Let’s deal a little with the “revisionism” of electoral processes.

2018 on December 9, the majority of RA citizens voted for CP. Shortly after, the disastrous 44-day war broke out and we lost thousands of young lives and about 7,800 square kilometers of territory.

2021 on June 20, apparently the majority of RA citizens went again and allegedly voted for the CP. After some time, there were several short war operations where we lost hundreds of lives, all of Artsakh and Armenia’s 220 sq/km area.

After these facts, Nikol Pashinyan again says roughly the following, that if you don’t elect CP, there will be a war by September.

And maybe the truth is the opposite? if for the third time the citizen of Armenia chooses KP, there is a high probability that after some time, we as a nation will face the next threat.

And maybe in the event of a collective victory of the opposition and nationwide consolidation, there is a possibility that real peace will be established and Armenia will cease to be a tool for the grandiose politics of others.

It can be seen from the statements of the CP that what is scary for them is not the disruption of the existing unstable peace or a possible war, but their loss of power.

P.S. Isn’t it better for the KP to add new articles to the administrative and electoral codes, according to which, if an RA citizen votes in favor of a non-KP, he is considered a “person acting against peace” and is fined a minimum salary, for example a thousand times. In case of repeating the same act for the second time (in the next parliamentary elections), the citizen is deprived of the right to vote. The third time, when there is nothing left of sovereign Armenia led by CP, it is justified.

The trap of “realism” and the price of concessions

A war took place, as a result of which we were defeated. It has been so with many states and nations. But who took the theses of the enemy and applied them, who edited his own history in a way that suited the enemy?

And it’s not like we ask ourselves questions, we try to face the reality as they try to present it. If you look at what anti-Armenian theses were propagated in Azerbaijan before the 44-day war, you will understand that these are not the issues we raised, it’s just that today the RA authorities, with their propagandists, are trying to instill those Azerbaijani theses into our compatriots.

When you see Pashinyan being applauded after his speech in the European Parliament, don’t forget that many people applauded in Strasbourg, but nothing was ever decided by that.

The people applauding think that the leader of a country trying to transform his nation is giving a speech. They do not know that this person leaves his nation defenseless before the enemy.

They applauded a man who had gone to protest against his own nation.

In general, when the leader of a state is widely and unanimously praised by the leaders and parliaments of other countries, it often means that the leader is not acting in the interests of his country, but in the interests of the states from which the words of praise are spoken.

I don’t want them to applaud us. I want us not to lose our national pride.

34,576 people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh received RA citizenship. minister

As of now, 34,576 people who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have received RA citizenship, there are zero cases of rejection. RA Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan said this during the regular session of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Issues.

“The number of minors displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh is 28,000, 12,000 of them acquired RA citizenship through passporting,” said the minister.

As for the number of applications for RA citizenship in general, according to Sargsyan, if in 2025 In the 1st semester, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received about 4,000 applications for RA citizenship, then in 2026 according to the data of the first two and a half months, this number reached 5,000.

To remind, according to the data of the migration and citizenship service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, after September 2023, 115,365 people were forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

Blackmail of war. Pashinyan turns fear into an election tool

Pashinyan again resorted to his already predictable practices, making the threat of war not a matter of responsibility, but a crude political tool.

This time he went further, actually warning, or rather, blackmailing the Armenian people, that if he loses the upcoming elections, war will be inevitable.

One could think that after the wars, years of failures, losses and disappointment under Pashinyan, such statements would at least be presented with some seriousness or restraint. Instead, they sound increasingly desperate, almost mechanical, as if repeating the same thought can restore long-lost confidence.

Ironically, the more he tries to advance this narrative, the more it works against him. There is no need to remind the Armenian society about the war. they experienced it, suffered its pain, paid the price for it. And every time he brings up the subject, it doesn’t instill fear of an uncertain future. it brings back very specific memories from his years in power. Wars during his time were not hypothetical, they were real, devastating and with severe consequences. So when he talks about war, people can’t imagine what it would be like without him. they remember what happened during his reign.

It is therefore not surprising that this argument sounds increasingly hollow. A leader who has failed in the fields of foreign policy and security is now trying to present himself as the only guarantor of peace. This might seem ironic if it were not so serious. The facts speak for themselves. Opportunities were missed, warnings were ignored, and proposals, such as the 2019 version of the Minsk Group, were not only rejected, but also hidden from the public.

But perhaps the most troubling aspect of this rhetoric is not its cynicism, but its sheer absurdity. Pashinyan speaks as if he has a unique ability to predict the time of war, as if geopolitical realities are adapted to the election results. However, the reality shows something else. On September 21, 2020, just six days before the start of the 44-day war, he presented his vision “Armenia 2050” in the hall of Matenadaran, full of great ambitions and unrealistic optimism. Not a word, not a hint, not a sign that the country is on the brink of one of the most destructive wars in modern history.

So the question remains. if he could not predict the war that would start in a few days, then on what basis is he now trying to predict a war in the fall?

These constant reminders of the war speak more not about the dangers facing Armenia, but about the incompetence and failures of the person making these statements. They reflect not strategic perception but political insanity, not leadership but improvisation. And perhaps most tellingly, this approach underestimates the very people it is trying to influence, assuming that they will forget or ignore what they have already experienced. This is perhaps the clearest proof of how far he is cut off from reality.

Iran has started charging a toll to pass through the Strait of Hormuz

Iran has imposed a toll on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, setting up a “safe corridor” for approved carriers. One of the operators paid about 2 million dollars for the transit of his tanker. Lloyd’s List wrote about this, referring to the source:

At least nine ships have already passed through the strait under this scheme. However, it is not known how many of them have paid. In some cases, according to some reports, diplomatic intervention was the only solution. Additionally, the payment mechanism itself remains uncertain amid sanctions against Iran.

According to some reports, the route of the “safe corridor” passes through Iran’s territorial waters near Larak Island, where the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and port authorities carry out visual identification of ships. Access to the corridor is allowed only after coordination with Tehran.
