YEREVAN, AUGUST 24, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence message to Georgian Premier Giorgi Gakharia over the tragic car accident in Dusheti region. As ARMENPRESS was informed from the Office of the Prime Minister, the message says,

“Your Excellency,

I was deeply grieved to learn of the tragic car accident in Dusheti region that left many innocent victims.

Condoling with you and the brotherly people of Georgia, I express my sympathy and support to victims’ families. I wish the wounded a speedy recovery.”

YEREVAN, AUGUST 24, ARMENPRESS. Presidents of Belarus and Russia, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, held a telephone conversation on August 24, ARMENPRESS reports the press service of the President of Belarus informed.

The Presidents discussed the situation in and over Belarus, particularly in the western part of the country.

In addition, the Heads of State discussed issues over the fight against coronavirus. In this context the Presidents agreed that the citizens of Belarus will voluntarily participate in the 3rd stage of the tests of the Russian-made COVID-19 vaccine. Belarus will also become the 1st country to receive the vaccine.

HayPost, the national postal operator of Armenia, is set to open an international office in China, Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan told a press conference on Wednesday.
 
The minister informed that the branch of HayPost has reopened in US Denver which is aimed at boosting trade with the US. Expanding the reach of HayPost services beyond the borders of Armenia is aimed at establishing new relationship and new service opportunities between Armenia and its Diaspora, the minister noted.
 
Among other updates concerning the postal services, Arshakyan pointed to the initiative of digitizing the system of online pension payments along with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour. The opening of a new type of postal point in Barekamavan village of Tavush region was mentioned as another achievement in the sphere of the country’s postal services.

Belgium completes internal procedures necessary for ratification of Armenia-EU CEPA

YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS. On 24 August 2020, Belgium notified the General Secretariat of the European Council and the Council of the EU about the completion of its internal procedures necessary for the ratification of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Armenian Embassy in Belgium said on Facebook.

Armenia and the European Union signed the CEPA in Brussels on November 24, 2017.

YEREVAN, 25 AUGUST, ARMENPRESS. The Central Bank of Armenia informs “Armenpress” that today, 25 August, USD exchange rate up by 0.46 drams to 485.71 drams. EUR exchange rate up by 0.30 drams to 574.50 drams. Russian Ruble exchange rate down by 0.04 drams to 6.50 drams. GBP exchange rate up by 0.02 drams to 636.96 drams.

The Central Bank has set the following prices for precious metals.

Gold price up by 334.53 drams to 30356.6 drams. Silver price up by 0.94 drams to 419.83 drams. Platinum price up by 481.79 drams to 14522.82 drams.

YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS. Aeroflot will start operating flights twice a week, every Thursday and Saturday starting from August 27, ARMENPRESS was informed from the website of Zvartnots airport.

Tickets for the flights operated on Thursdays and Saturdays from Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport to Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport can be purchased only by those citizens who will continue their flights from Sheremetyevo Airport to Los Angeles, Shanghai and European counties.

Please note that when traveling from Sheremetyevo Airport to a transit country, passengers must have a PCR certificate (English or Russian version) issued less than 72 hours before departure. The passenger should also study the rules of entry into the country of departure and have all the necessary documents with him/her․

Let us remind that, from now on, if a person entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia doesn’t have symptoms of the coronavirus and hasn’t been hospitalized, he/she may choose either self-isolation for 14 days or taking a PCR test during self-isolation and, if the test results are negative, he/she may interrupt the self-isolation.

According to the decision of the State of Emergency Commandant of Armenia, during current state of mitigating conditions, those who arrive to Armenia must be self-isolated for 14 days. The isolation period can be reduced due to negative test results.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan sent a condolence message to Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Archil Talakvadze over the bus crash neat Shatili village. As ARMENPRESS was informed from the press service of the parliament of Armenia, the message runs as follows,

I was deeply saddened to learn about the minibus accident near the Shatili village, which claimed human lives and caused injuries. I extend our most sincere condolences and words of support to you and the friendly people of Georgia.
