The “Sasna Trees” party demanded an explanation from the Acting Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, regarding the latter’s statement yesterday.

“On November 26, within the framework of the RA NA election campaign, during the rally held in Artik city, Acting Prime Minister of the RA, candidate for the RA NA, leader of the “My Step” bloc, Nikol Pashinyan, in his statement addressed to the representatives of the “Sasna Trees” pan-Armenian party, made baseless claims, used threats and expressions with offensive connotations.

Such a statement by Mr. Pashinyan is very puzzling to us, so we hope that he will clarify his words at the first opportunity.

Until then, we reaffirm our support for the revolution and its goals and continue to assert that, in our belief, the conditions of the current elections, the challenges facing our nation and the state, and the trends of socio-political developments caused by them will lead to the need for new extraordinary elections in approximately one and a half to two years.

Based on that belief, we have proposed an appropriate pre-election program, which also contains a proposal to adopt a new Constitution and a new Electoral Code and a new law on Parties, in order to reach the new special elections in a prepared and ready state and, in parallel, to solve the problems that are still standing in the way of our nation and state.

At the same time, we express our loyalty to the absolute truth that the mission of political forces is to propose ideas and views, but the people decide and the people will decide what we all do.

Using this opportunity, we urge the representatives of the force that led the revolution, as well as all the forces that contributed to the revolution and did not act against the people, to refrain from the tactics of attacking each other and to have as a common goal the imperative of forming a National Assembly that was part of the former criminal regime and free from the criminal oligarchy.”

To remind, yesterday Nikol Pashinyan, in response to Varuzhan Avetisyan’s statement that this National Assembly is transitional and there will be new extraordinary elections, said:

“Have you really decided that you are given the right to decide the size of the parliament and sometimes even people’s lives? I tell you, don’t suddenly get upset, this is not the weak and feeble government of Serzh Sargsyan for you.”

The President of the Republic Armen Sargsyan accepted the “2018. to the organizers and a group of participants of the international round table-discussion entitled “a breakthrough year for the South Caucasus”. The purpose of the conference, initiated by the “Scientific Society of Caucasian Scientists” and the “Dialog” Moscow organization, is to discuss regional problems, assess existing and possible challenges and threats.

The President of the Republic emphasized the close cooperation between Russian and Armenian research and analytical centers, the work of political scientists-analysts and experts.

The guests presented the goals of the event to the president, noted that they want to better understand the processes taking place in Armenia in order to form a more objective understanding of them.

President Sargsyan considered stability and predictability very important for the country. “It is an important factor, and I, as the president of the Republic, will do my best to ensure that stability,” Armen Sargsyan emphasized.

The President noted that discussions and analyzes in general provide an opportunity to generate new ideas, to outline what needs to be done, to understand where we are going, what goals we are pursuing, what our relations with the world will be like.

At the invitation of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan, along with his wife Nune Sargsyan, will leave for an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany on November 27. This was reported by the RA President’s Office.

Within the scope of the visit, the President of the Republic will have meetings with the highest leadership of the GDR, the Chancellor Angela Merkel, president Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble with Many issues related to the cooperation agenda and prospects of the two countries will be at the core of the discussions at the meetings.

During the visit, President Sargsyan will meet with German businessmen operating in Armenia and interested in cooperation with Armenia. Discussions will be held on the investment and business environment in Armenia, the development opportunities of Armenian-German economic cooperation.

The President of the Republic will participate in the discussion organized by the Munich International Security Forum, and will also visit the German Red Cross organization, which has been carrying out quite effective activities in Armenia especially in the last 30 years.

As part of the official visit, the president will visit Saxony-Anhalt, where he is scheduled to meet with the head of the regional government, Rainer Hazeloff.

The agenda of the official visit of the President of Armenia also includes visits to a number of scientific, educational and scientific and technical institutions of the GDR. Armen Sargsyan will deliver lectures at the Bertelsmann Foundation, Otto von Guerike University.

The President of the Republic will attend the concert of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the great Armenian composer Aram Khachatryan at the famous Konzerthaus Berlin, with the participation of famous violinist Sergey Khachatryan.

What Sasun Mikayelyan announced yesterday is a political plan implemented by Nikol Pashinyan, the government instead of Artsakh. Sasun Mikayelyan simply expressed what is the policy of the current authorities. The current government’s policy is also to consistently weaken the army. Davit Shahnazaryan, the former director of the NSS, number three on the RPA pre-election list, announced this at a meeting with journalists.

To remind, Sasun Mikayelyan said in his speech yesterday. “I am not afraid to say that this victory that you, the Armenian people, won in our republic was more important than the Artsakh liberation war.”

According to Shahnazaryan, all this proves that the current authorities are dangerous.

“Today’s government poses a much greater threat to Artsakh than Azerbaijan. It is necessary to get rid of this administration one day ago,” the speaker emphasized.

He is sure that the army is being weakened, and this process is being done concretely Nikol Pashinyan by order.

“It is the RPA that should talk about the army, they have been attacking the army since the first day. The government has made the army its target,” he said. 

According to him, when frontline generals are called to the SIS and made to wait for hours, it is directed against the army, its purpose is to bring the army to the state in which the police is today,” he said.

“The army is such a delicate organism that you have to understand what you are doing with it. And the government of these defectors cannot understand it. The weakening of the army is done directly by the Prime Minister’s order,” added Davit Shahnazaryan.

By the way, the MP candidate does not expect anything good from the upcoming elections. According to Shahnazaryan, internal political stability will not be established in Armenia as a result of the elections, and the results will record the mosaic we have today, while after two or three months everything will change. 

“The RPA has taken an important step in the interest of the state. First of all, the current ruling regime constantly emphasizes that there was a peaceful, velvet revolution. It was exclusively the decision of the previous authorities and this step of the RPA deserves at least respect,” added Shahnazaryan.

We imagine the upcoming parliament as a transitional parliament. we presented just such a program, in our opinion, the National Assembly should have completed its work in 2 years and there should be new elections. Varuzhan Avetisyan, who heads the list of the “Sasna Trees” party, announced this at the press conference announcing the start of the pre-election campaign near the National Assembly building.

According to him, it is assumed that a new Constitution should be adopted, formed in new times, and the forces that have the right to be called a party will be able to fully participate in the elections and express the will of our people.

Parliamentary elections are the most important political event in a parliamentary country and this parliament should bring clarity to the development vision of RA for the next 5 years. It is important both for implementing economic projects, bringing investments, building an army and other goals in a country at war.

“Sasna Trees” propose that this new National Assembly should operate for only two years, after which a new constitution should be adopted and new elections held. However, in a country like RA, which has significant economic problems – social, demographic, emigration, etc., as well as the unresolved Karabakh problem, the holding of permanent elections will lead the country to new upheavals, dividing lines and uncertainty.

In addition, this Sasna Tree announcement has another message as a result of this election Nikol Pashinyan the force will, by all accounts, garner an overwhelming majority. The factions, in fact, do not want Pashinyan’s power to have a monopoly in the future NA, which will cause contradictions between them.

Nikol Pashinyan is going to get a majority in the National Assembly and he will not want the National Assembly to dissolve in two years and new elections to be held. It is also possible that in two years nothing will be left of the revolutionary euphoria and “My step” will not be able to gather as many votes as in the December elections.

In Spitak, Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the “My Step” bloc, addressed the criticisms directed at Sasun Mikayelyan, the candidate of the same bloc, in particular, the criticisms voiced by the candidates of the Republican Party, Armen Ashotyan and Shushan Petrosyan, during the campaign.

“Sasun Mikayelyan’s body has an “askolka” equal to your weight. The size of your weight. Who are you defending the Artsakh liberation war from? You, who for many years not only watched and led the looting of the army, but now you want to protect your right to loot the army with your nails. I will not allow you,” Pashinyan announced according to Aysor.

Then he continued his speech, addressing the figures from Artsakh. “I somehow don’t remember that those people, some people, also in Karabakh, made a statement when it turned out that Manvel Grigoryan stole a soldier’s bread and took it to his dogs and fed it to bears. Where were you, defenders of the freedom struggle, I know where you were, because some of you have similar warehouses in some places. We know the location of those warehouses, we have photos of those warehouses. We have revealed those warehouses and many things that we are not saying, because there is a national security issue and a state secret issue.”

According to Pashinyan, “some of the funds allocated to the Armenia All-Armenian Fund have been financed by their veteroks”.

“I somehow don’t remember that the defenders of the Artsakh liberation war said half a word about that Serzh Sargsyan 30 million dollars in a bank account in only one bank. No one asks: where did you get 30 million dollars from, if our soldier has no pants or T-shirt? Hey, looting crooks. I say: we will go after all those 30 million, 20 million, we will take them from your hands, get ready one by one. We will take the last stolen penny from your hands. I do not rule out that some will become homeless as a result of this process, because they were homeless, let them return to their original status. They are giving a speech. Republicans. I will refer to your speeches one by one,” Pashinyan announced.

The leader of the “My step” bloc read to the gathered people the poem “Uprising” by Silva Kaputikyan, written in 2004, which, according to him, was directed “against the republican Kocharyan regime”.

He also addressed the Republican village heads of the villages.

“Is there still a Republican village chief out there who thinks of scaring his villagers during elections or any other occasion? So, those village chiefs, know that I will personally come after you and throw you out of your offices by your necks.” Grabbing your necks,” Pashinyan declared.

Then he continued his speech, asking: “How, is there still a person in this country who dares to frighten a citizen?” We will make them all lie down on the asphalt, who are these people, what kind of republican, what kind of oligarch, what kind of fat man, what kind of muscle man, we will make you all lie down on the asphalt and you will not get up from those asphalts for years.

And now I say to the police, yes, don’t try to push anyone, don’t try to push a single criminal element, it will become a thief, it will become an authority, we will kill everyone with walls. You will put your heads on the wall, you will scare the citizen, say your names, you should not come out of the holes. Your place is in prisons, you will all end up in prisons. Whether you are a criminal, an authority figure or a thief, don’t mess with these elections, don’t try to coerce the people. Republican village heads, sit in your cabinets and work normally, don’t try to tell the citizen who to vote for. The citizen knows well who to vote for.”

According to him, all member states of the organization are interested in making the organization work and contribute to everyone’s security. At the same time, he expressed confidence that the issue of appointing the CSTO Secretary General will be resolved without bringing the organization to its knees.

“The issue of the General Secretary is being discussed. I am confident that it will be resolved in such a way that our organization will come out of this story stronger, including in matters of clarification and reworking of the regulations,” emphasized Kopirkin.

Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the “My Step” bloc, called the statements of ARF Bureau representative Hrant Margaryan that no weapons have been supplied to Armenia since May shameful.

Certain tensions in the region are an obstacle to the deepening of economic interaction between individual countries and groups of countries. The development of economic integration, the strengthening of the economic potential of the states of the region can be a good prerequisite for responding to the existing challenges and strengthening stability. This was announced by RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan at the 52nd Plenary Session of the General Assembly of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.  

According to him, the role of the CSTO PA is significantly increasing, because the economy is a key factor in international relations, and economic relations often create favorable conditions for the formation of an effective political agenda, which contributes to the settlement of controversial issues and limits the prospects of confrontation. The commonality of tasks and perspectives unites, calling for solidarity and cooperation in order to strengthen democracy and fundamental values ​​in the entire region.

“The peculiarity of the PA of the SSR is that it is the only parliamentary organization in the region with an exclusively economic character. The CSTO PA is a dynamic democratic forum for dialogue and cooperation, as well as an important channel of communication between the peoples of the region through their elected representatives. We are committed to the development of peace, security, stability and economic partnership in the region. In order to give a new impetus to regional economic cooperation, we call on all members of the CSTO PA to continue joint actions in this direction. A need for the PSC PA has the ability to deepen creative thinking, which rejects the display of hostility and the politics of dividing lines,” Babloyan said.

The Speaker of the National Assembly emphasized that Armenia is interested in the further development of multilateral economic cooperation in the region, but at the same time we do not stop repeating that the main idea and priority of the creation of the CSTO PA is the strengthening of economic cooperation between the CSTO member states.

“Armenia confirms its commitment to this idea and insists that for the effective implementation of the goals of the CSTO, it is necessary to preserve the economic nature of the organization, avoiding excessive politicization,” he said, adding that Armenia is ready to continue to make a constructive contribution to the development of cooperation between the CSTO countries, contributing to the strengthening of the structure and proposing new regional and global integration projects and initiatives.

Armenia appealed to the Russian Federation to discuss the possibility of extending the repayment of the Russian loan provided for Armenia’s nuclear power plant. Garegin Baghramyan, Acting Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of RA, said this in a conversation with journalists.

According to him, the decision is likely to be positive, because the Russian side also has the attitude that the repayment should be postponed.

“It is necessary so that not only the repayment of the loan passes without problems, but also a certain result is created on the tariffs of our final consumers. “After the restart of the NPP, there will be an opportunity to reduce the electricity tariff,” he said.

It should be noted that the work of the NPP until 2026. in order to extend, in 2014, the Russian Federation provided Armenia with a loan of 270 million dollars and a grant of 30 million dollars for a period of 15 years.
