During a summit in Baku, Head of the Armenian Delegation to OSCE
Parliamentary Assembly Artashes Geghamyan urged the Azerbaijani
authorities to start a dialogue with Stepanakert, APA reports.

Geghamyan said that it is a direct dialogue with Nagorno-Karabakh that
can contribute to the conflict settlement. He added that the
settlement should be based on the principle of peoples’ right to
self-determination.

The MP also blamed Azerbaijan for the fact that Baku relies on the US
rather than other co- chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group.

Raffi Hovannisian: Armenia is under occupation of lies

June 28, 2014 | 13:18

YEREVAN. – Armenia’s political forces should abandon “the complex of
Jesus”, leader of Heritage party said during the tenth congress of the
party on Saturday.

Raffi Hovannisian believes the political parties should lay aside
their ambitions and unite, then people will take to the streets and
will start struggling for their rights.

“We should find the way uniting political forces. Unless we do it, the
current situation will continue for a long time,” he said.

Hovhannisian noted that Armenia “is under occupation of lies” and
named the political prisoners – Shant Harutyunyan and Volodya
Avetisyan.

We need Armenia without Serzh Sargsyan, says Heritage leader

15:24 * 28.06.14

We need a Republic of Armenia without Serzh Sargsyan’s presidency, the
opposition Heritage party’s leader said today at their political
force’s 10th congress.

“We are entering a period that demands a great responsibility. I don’t
know when we will have the critical mass – we may be mistaken as to
the timeframes – but that will definately happen,” Raffi Hovhannisyan
told the participants of the meeting.

Reiterating his earlier claim that the party was an absolute winner in
the 2013 presidential election, the Heritage leader said he is
convinced that the top government officials, including President
Sargsyan, acceded to power “through rigging methods”.

Hovhannisyan added, “This semi-finished period sees the struggle
continue, so we will lead it to a victory together with our
colleagues. It is easy to become cynical and speak under the walls,
but you have proven that hope can eventually win in our Republic.”

ARMENIE

Youra Movsissian sera probablement arrêté durant près d’un an…

President of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan on
Saturday issued an address to the participants of an international
education conference.

The three-day public event, entitled Education without Discrimination
in the Frameworks of the Bologne Process, opened in the country’s
capital Stepanakert on Friday. It has been organized by the joint
efforts of the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Education and the Artsakh
State University.

The president’s address is below:

Respected participants of the conference,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I cordially welcome the participants of the international conference
Education without Discrimination within the framework of the Bologne
Process.

Holding this events in Artsakh with the participation of renowned
Armenian and foreign scientists and experts, representatives of the
educational sector is demanded and significant. Discussions held in
this format will help develop a more extensive and in-depth
understanding of education development-related issues across the globe
and in leading countries, as well as of the possible solutions and the
prospects of applying successful models in our republic.

In Artsakh, we put special emphasis on these very crucial issues,
especially considering the significance of education and science for
our country and nation. The education sector is considered a key
strategic trend of our state’s development. Our people’s intellectual
potential is the biggest wealth of Artsakh, and its development and
continuing improvement depends, to a large extent, on the
establishment and maintenance of firm ties and practical ties with the
civilized world in the education sector. Such a vision is also fully
in line with international norms, as high quality education promoting
all-round development of an individual is among the most significant
components securing the development of a state, fundamental human
rights and democracy. I am confident that the conference will help
effectively solve the tasks set before it and will have a useful
contribution to the development of education in our republic. I wish
everybody success and all the best”.

Press Release

Armenian Genocide Denial Reported to the Dutch Police

The Hague, 27 June 2014 The Joint Armenian Organisations, namely the
Federation of Armenian Organisations in the Netherlands (FAON) and Dutch
Armenian Committee for Justice and Democracy (Hay Tad), have today reported
the organisers, speakers and participants of a Turkish rally on 1 June 2014
in Almelo to the police. The rally was intended to be a demonstration
against the Genocide memorial recently erected on the private grounds of the
Armenian Church in Almelo, however, it turned into anti-Armenian chanting
and denial of the Armenian Genocide. Roughly 3000 protestors gathered in
Almelo from cities all over the Netherlands.

According to the Joint Armenian Organisations, the participants of the rally
are guilty of group defamation, discrimination, and incitement to hatred of
the Armenian people, meaning that Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the
Netherlands was violated.

Written questions about the demonstration were submitted by Members of the
Dutch Parliament Mr. Pieter Omtzigt (CDA Christian Democratic Appeal), Mr.
Harry Van Bommel (SP Socialist Party), Mr. Joel Voordewind (CU Christian
Union), Mr. Kees van der Staaij (SGP Reformed Political Party) and Mr.
Raymond de Roon (PVV Party for Freedom) to the Minister of Foreign
Affairs, Minister of Social Affairs and Employment and Minister of Security
and Justice.

The questions included concerns about the organisation of the rally, which,
according to pamphlets distributed on the day, was in part organised by
Diyanet, ³The Presidency of Religious Affairs² of Turkey, which also offered
free transportation by bus to the demonstration.

There is an international consensus on the Armenian Genocide in academia.
The Dutch parliament unanimously recognised the Armenian Genocide in 2004
(Motion by Mr. Rouvoet).

WHERE HAS 78 KILOS OF HEROIN GONE IN ARMENIA? – NEWSPAPER

June 27, 2014 | 08:28

YEREVAN. – It turned out that the 928 kg of heroin, which the Armenia
police had confiscated on January 18, has not yet been destroyed,
Chorrord Ishkhanutyun newspaper reported.

“But according to the data released by police, a total of only 850
kg of heroin was seized during the first five months of this year. No
one knows where 78 kg of heroin has gone.

“It is clear that the heroin has not yet been destroyed. The Armenian
authorities are not stupid to destroy $200 million [worth of heroin]
with open eyes. But where has the 78 kilograms [of heroin] gone,
whose market value is about $15 million?

“Corresponding [laboratory] tests certainly can be conducted and stated
that 78 kg of the 928 kg had been powdered sugar. But in that case,
they should also be able to explain why the unknown villains were
smuggling in powdered sugar,” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun wrote.
