Yet another scandalous disclosure is made in the book entitled 1915:
Armenian Genocide, which is written by Hasan Cemal, the grandson of
Cemal Pasha who is one of the architects behind the Armenian Genocide.

In his book, Hasan Cemal reflected on the national belonging of
the mother of Ilhan Selcuk, the well-known nationalist journalist of
Cumhuriyet [Republic] daily, and stressed that Selcuk always concealed
this. He did not even told his close ones as to when his mother had
died, and he did not mourn her death, Radikal daily of Turkey reports.

This disclosure was widely covered by Turkish media.

To note, Turkish journalist Tuncay Opcin had written earlier that an
Armenian acquaintance had said Selcuk had a hang-up that his mother
was Armenian and his aunt from his mother’s side was buried in an
Armenian cemetery in Istanbul, and that is why Selcuk had gone to
the nationalist side.

YEREVAN. – A new government is being formed these days in
Nagorno-Karabakh. And although the government’s head-that is, the
PM-is the same, there is no shortage of new ones. And this time
Armenia’s opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party has become more active
in Karabakh’s political life than it is in Armenia, Irates De Facto
newspaper reports.

“The Government’s Deputy PM is Dashnaktsutyun member Arthur Aghabekyan,
and Dashnaktsutyun member Davit Ishkhanyan will probably head the
Foreign Affairs Ministry.

According to some information, this is the very ‘price’ for supporting
[Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President] Bako Sahakyan [in the
recent presidential elections]. And, in the future, Dashnaktsutyun
members could be appointed to other offices, too.

Incidentally, it is more noteworthy that [NKR’s] foreign policy
domain is in the hands of Dashnaktsutyun members. According to our
information, from now on the Dashnaktsutyun’s organizations abroad will
exert very great efforts within the politics of the very Karabakh,”
Irates De Facto writes.

PanARMENIAN.Net – According to Zhoghovurd daily, Yerevan’s chief
architect confirmed the rumors on the Armenian Foreign Ministry
building to be transformed into a hotel.

“The ministry will have a new building where the Justice Ministry
premises used to be,” Narek Sargsyan said.

On September 23, 2011, the paper divulged the government’s plans to
sell the Foreign Ministry building to Kempinski Hotels S.A for USD
500 mln, with RA authorities denying the information then.

After Azerbaijani assassin Ramil Safarov’s extradition, it would be
cleverer to close the ministry altogether, the daily says.

PanARMENIAN.Net – European Parliament’s reaction to Azerbaijani
assassin Ramil Safarov’s extradition and further developments on the
issue is unsatisfactory, Armenian political expert, head of Regional
Studies Center (RSC) Richard Giragosian said.

“Such reaction by the European Parliament is quite natural since it
always refrains from expressing a final stance. It may impose either
arms embargo or other sanctions on Azerbaijan,” the expert said.

RICHARD KIRAKOSYAN: ARMENIA IS THE ONLY RELIABLE ALLY OF RUSSIA

YEREVAN

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS: At the press conference held on
September 18 the Director of the Regional Studies Center (RSC) Richard
Kirakosyan stated that the military drills, held in Armenia by the
Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), prove the high level
of the cooperation between Armenia and Russia. According to him, the
CSTO military drills are quite important for both Armenia and Russia.

“For Armenia this is the way, with which we could address Azerbaijan,
that if Azerbaijan starts a war, it will lose. It reminds of the
fact that Armenia is the strongest country of the region”, – said
Kirakosyan, as reported by Armenpress.

Concerning the raise of anti-American moods because of the movie
“Innocence of Muslims”, the expert said that it witnessed about the
weakness and instability of the Armenia’s neighboring countries.

“Armenia is the only stable country in the region. From this
point of view there is a strategic importance to maintain this
stability due to democracy development and economic reforms”, –
said Kirakosyan. He added that for Armenia it was quite interesting
that in Baku anti-American protest actions were held, during which
20 people were arrested.

Speaking on the discussions around the recognition of the Nagorno
Karabakh independence after the Safarov’s events, the Director of
the Regional Studies Center stated that he saw the future of Karabakh
as a part of Armenia. According to him, the recognition of Karabakh
by Armenia would impede the peaceful regulation process. The expert
considered the European Parliament’s resolution to be neither a
big achievement nor a big loss. “That decision is unsatisfactory,
as it does not contain concrete sanctions against Azerbaijan”, –
emphasized Kirakosyan.

“As the bloodshed continues unabated in Syria, and as our communities
try to cope with the tragic situation, unfortunately, what adds to
our anguish are the unsuccessful attempts of presenting the Syrian
Armenians as taking part in the armed battles of the current Syrian
crisis or trying to actually drag them into such a crisis,” the Heads
of the Syrian Armenian communities said in a statement.

“We reiterate today, that the peaceful co-existence that the Syrian
Armenians have cultivated throughout the decades continues, and the
Armenian community is characteristically and unequivocally against
every kind of cruelty and bloodshed, and it will definitely stay
against all kinds of violence and armed collisions,” the statement
reads.

“The re-establishment of peace and reconciliation can only come
through dialogue in Syria, and dialogue alone will ensure the
peaceful co-existence of all communities, based upon the principles
of tolerance, respect and love,” the Heads of the Syrian Armenian
communities said.

SEVENTY-TWO SCHOOLS IN ARMENIA’S TAVUSH REGION TO RECEIVE COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND FURNITURE

The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, in conjunction with the Indian
Embassy in Armenia and the Vardanyan Family Foundation, has launched
an unprecedented effort to establish computer classrooms and Internet
access throughout schools in Armenia’s Tavush Region. The large-scale
project will result in the provision of computer systems and furniture
to 19 urban and 53 rural campuses.

Currently only ten of the region’s 82 public and private schools have
a sufficient number of computers and Internet access for students. In
order to address this substantial technological deficit, the Hayastan
All-Armenian Fund signed a Memorandum with the government of India
in October 2011, with the latter committing to donate and set up
hundreds of computer systems, as well as establish online access,
in schools across Tavush. In addition to this project, recently the
Hayastan All-Armenian Fund organized a series of advanced trainings
for teachers throughout the region.

With the financial support of the Indian government, a total of 550
computers and 72 printers will be donated to Tavush schools. The
systems will be delivered in two shipments to Armenia by the end
of this month. The Indian government will also dispatch a team
of specialists to Armenia for the installation of the systems and
establishment of online access.

Furniture for the newly created computer classrooms at all recipient
schools is being sponsored by the Vardanyan Family Foundation, on
behalf of benefactor Michael Vardanyan.

The project will benefit a total of 16,183 students.
