EUROPEAN COMMISSIONER FULE EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER KARS STATUE DEMOLITION

European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule said on Monday that
the European Union is “deeply concerned” about the demolition of a
monument in Turkey’s eastern province of Kars as he said that it is
the only statue dedicated to the struggle of peace between Armenia
and Turkey.

In response to a proposal presented by some European Parliament
members, Fule said that neither the commission, nor any other statesman
can define the aesthetic value of the statue, and that to demolish
a piece of art is a “very serious decision.”

Popularly known as the “Monument to Humanity,” the statue has been
almost demolished on grounds that it had been illegally erected.

The controversy surrounding the statue began after Prime Minister
Recep Tayyip Erdogan called it a “monstrosity.” It was erected to
commemorate the Ottoman soldiers who froze to death 96 years ago
during a military operation against Russia. The “Monument to Humanity”
is also meant to symbolize the friendship between Turkey and Armenia.

YEREVAN. – No revolutionary results may be expected from upcoming
meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani, and Russian presidents in Kazan,
member of ruling Republican Party of Armenia, chairman of Standing
Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the parliament
Gagik Minasyan told the journalists.

Minasyan believes that those meetings only bring the conflicting
sides closer to the reality.

“I do not think that basic principles will be signed,” Minasyan added.

However, Azerbaijani media continues to misinterpret the recent
Deauville declaration on Karabakh by presidents of U.S., Russia and
France, co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group on Karabakh.

Minasyan assured that Armenian side will not astray from three basic
principles on Karabakh, including territorial integrity of Kara back
(independence from Azerbaijan), international security guarantees
for citizens of Karabakh, and secured land frontier between Armenia
and Karabakh.

No new developments are expected in the inner political life of
Armenia, member of the Heritage faction Larisa Alaverdyan said
at a news conference today, adding that there is dialogue between
authorities and the opposition and it was expected.

“There are no unexpected developments in the inner political. All
the changes and dialogues are expected”, Alaverdyan said.

Speaking about the withdrawal of the “Free Democrats” party from
the Armenian National Congress, Alaverdyan said it is possible to
understand why they did it.

“Coming forth of the “Free Democrats” as a separate political unit
does not mean they can compete with the “Heritage” or other political
forces”, she said.

The Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) has launched an Organic Farming
Training Program in Armenia’s rural communities.

According to a press release by the fund, the program is aimed at
encouraging high school students in rural communities to specialize
in farming and multi-pronged agricultural projects through tghe
application of innovative methods and acquisition of practical skills
and mechanisms.

Since 2004, COAF has been implementing Comprehensive Rural Development
Program in Armavir region.

On June 19, 2011 five members of the Agricultural Clubs from
COAF-supported communities of Dalarik, Karakert, Lernagog and
Miasnikian left for the United States of America to take part in
the eight-week pilot program, which will enable the youngsters to be
trained on organic farming in the premises of “Ararat Farms” located
in the State of Maine. In addition to the primary goal of the project,
the trainees will also strengthen their English language skills and
attend a series of social projects and cultural events.

The Agricultural Clubs had been launched as part of the grant provided
to COAF by the HSBC Global Education Fund. Prior to their departure,
the young farmers completed English classes through the support of
the Peace Corps, and conducted a number of instructive visits to the
fields, gardens and farms of Armavir Marz.

Following the completion of the Organic Farming Training Program in
the USA, the trained girls and boys will transfer the newly gained
knowledge and skills to their fellow classmates and community members.

Another expected contribution of the project focuses on the development
of children’s professional orientation which often lacks in Armenia’s
educational institutions. Anna Lazarian, who is a high-school student
in the Dalarik School, is excited about the program and wishes join
the members of their team to establish an advanced center of ecological
agriculture in Armenia upon her return.

BAKU: Political Scientist: Syndrome Of Cemetery For Armenian Militar

POLITICAL SCIENTIST: SYNDROME OF CEMETERY FOR ARMENIAN MILITARY

Trend News Agency
June 21 2011
Azerbaijan

Political scientist, Director of Center for Political Innovation and
Technology Mubariz Ahmedoglu

The reaction of Armenia to our words within the “Hour of Karabakh”
project dedicated to the war that has no analogue was predictable.

Naturally, this does not matter whether they refer to us, because
the idea is original and was made public by a single source. In other
words, another contender for the authorship of this idea can not be.

We believe that the Armenian troops and Armenians in general have the
ambitions to own heaven and earth. There are such people in Azerbaijan
as well. But the majority of Azerbaijani politicians in the context
of this topic are limited to the possession of Nagorno-Karabakh,
Zangezur and Irevan. In the near future, Nagorno-Karabakh and Zangezur
can satisfy our ambitions.

We know the hype about the sale of arms to Iran by Georgia in early
2010. Then there were rumors that for the Georgian-Iranian arms sales,
Armenia has received a transit fee with nature, that is with weapons.

Further, information spread that in Georgia there are 40 Israeli-made
unmanned aircrafts, which later “disappeared”. But we also remember
the spread of information that suddenly 15 of the Israeli-made unmanned
aircrafts appeared in Armenia.

We want to bring to the attention of the Armenian military, who held
a press conference, that their current words about the power of the
Armenian army seem weaker than the words of Defense Minister Seyran
Ohanian, who told them about a year ago at this time.

Last year, after the above exchange of weapons, Ohanian said that
the Armenian army was never close to victory, like now.

After the Azerbaijani Air Forces conducted military exercises on
the line of contact, it became clear that the air defense system of
Armenians is working inefficiently.

We wish to inform the public of Armenia that by the end of this year,
the Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan will produce 60 unmanned
aircrafts, but this does not mean that there are 60 unmanned aircrafts
in Azerbaijan. The number of unmanned aircrafts is about one hundred.

On the other hand, the Azerbaijani side establishes Internet along
the entire line of contact. Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan started
placing modern tracking devices and computers with modern tracking
software in these territories.

As a result of permanent and long-term observations on the line of
contact, all the Armenian troops and their conversations are recorded.

If necessary, the unmanned aircrafts from a height of 50, 100 or
several hundred meters can monitor and transmit the exact coordinates
to the small-caliber guns and correct their shootings.

Let us more clarify for the Armenians: the result of the Kazan meeting
is not so important for us; the important thing is the beginning of
the practical stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. The
beginning of this process will be counted from the moment when the
Armenian troops begin to withdraw from the territory of Azerbaijan.

Let us say more clearly to Armenians: after this, the line of contact
will turn into a cemetery for Armenian military.

>From this point of view, we say to the Armenian citizens: do not send
your children to military service in Karabakh, and come and take away
those who are there.

We have some information about what was written about systems “Scud”
and “Smerch”. The Armenian press information about the “Scud” is
nothing rather than a myth. It is not even a children’s myth, but a
purely Armenian myth.

But in Armenia, there are four “Smerch”. “Smerch” is a weapon
of Russia, which Armenians consider their strategic partner. The
Armenians bought “Smerch” in China and transported through Iran.

Armenia has had “Smerch” for approximately eight years.

What we have said on the application of information technologies in
conjunction with communications and unmanned aircraft is just the
initial phase of work. There are more opportunities for improvement
and development.
