On August 30, at 11:20, the “911” hotline received an alarm that a road accident happened on Kapan-Kajaran highway, and there are victims.
It turned out that a VAZ-2106 car and a FAW truck collided on the 9th kilometer of Kapan-Kajaran highway. As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of VAZ-2106 died on the spot.

After a three-day teaser of Yerevan, I was not ready to part with the big city and move to the more rural city of Gyumri. In addition to leaving behind the vivacious street life, I was dreading the idea of sharing one bathroom with 16 other people. The question that I found myself asking was, why do the people of Gyumri choose to stay in their city and not in the city of Yerevan?
As I drove to Gyumri, my worries of living in a “boring” city quickly faded away. I didn’t know it was possible to feel such an overwhelming sense of Armenian-ness. Looking out of the crammed bus’ windows and seeing the green rolling hills and foliage, I was able to answer my previously overstated question.
Yes, Yerevan’s night life and restaurants may be superior, but my sense of Armenian-ness was diluted in an urban, globalized city. The term “hyrenaser” is epitomized by the people of Gyumri. After the earthquake of 1988, this town could have been abandoned, leaving behind only ruins. However, that’s not the case. Gyumri is continuously rebuilding itself from ground up, both literally and figuratively. Although they still have a long way to go, the people are continuously proving their loyalty and dedication to their beloved city.
Prior to traveling to Gyumri, I believed I had met all types of “hyrenaser” individuals but I was pleasantly proven wrong. The citizens of Gyumri: the adults and children, the working professionals and stay-at-home mothers, the schoolchildren and the grandparents, they’ve each taught me that “hayrenasiutyun” is something they live, breath, and work toward every day. I am extremely grateful to be able to share this feeling with them.
This instance is just one of the many impacts the AYF Youth Corps Program will have on my life, and I now anxiously wait to experience more life altering moments in the next few weeks.
The government has revealed on its official Facebook page that Ter-Petrosyan shared with Pashinyan his opinion on solutions for a number of challenges that Armenia is facing today.
The parties also discussed Armenia’s foreign policy and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Mai 68, les «gauchistes» arméniens et «Libé»
On commémore cette année les 50 ans de Mai 68 et une pléthore d’ouvrages et d’expositions sont proposés. Mais, sait-on que Mai 68 a aussi permis l’entrée en politique des minorités en France ? Ainsi en va-t-il de certains Arméniens de la 2e et surtout de la 3e génération, ceux dont les grands-parents, rescapés du génocide et arrivés en France dans les années 20, étaient restés dans l’entre-soi, et dont les parents, nés en France, se sont très bien intégrés au tissu social français. Leurs enfants, nés dans les années 50, scolarisés dans les lycées français, se sont familiarisés avec les luttes de libération nationale (Vietnam, Palestine), se sont politisés dans les AG, ont refusé l’ordre établi et se sont reconnus dans l’extrême gauche française, les maoïstes et plus largement les «gauchistes» (internationalistes, anti-impérialistes, antifascistes).
Parmi eux, Raffi Stéphane Indjeyan, né en 1952, et décédé il y a un an, le 21 juillet 2017, a pleinement vécu Mai 68. Il était «de toutes les manifs du Quartier latin, rue Gay-Lussac, là où ça cognait le plus dur» et aimait dans Mai 68 «le truc anti-autoritaire (1)». Après avoir été un des leaders de la révolte dans son lycée parisien, il défend les collectifs autonomes et, se qualifiant lui-même de «révolutionnaire», entre à la Gauche prolétarienne (GP) en 1970. Très vite, il établit des liens entre les peuples du tiers-monde et la situation des Arméniens, dépossédés de leur territoire en Turquie. Son militantisme politique nourrit alors un militantisme plus identitaire. Avec quelques militants arméniens proches de ses idées, il fonde en 1976 le mouvement Libération arménienne, dont le titre doit beaucoup au journal français Libération.
Car Stéphane Indjeyan travaille comme photograveur à Libération, il côtoie donc Serge July, Benny Lévy et Pierre Goldman. Les locaux du journal peuvent accueillir la nuit les militants arméniens pour qu’ils impriment leur journal, Hay Baykar («combat arménien»), mensuel créé en 1977. Libération ferme les yeux pendant presque deux ans et soutient la cause arménienne, qui se caractérise par la demande de reconnaissance du génocide de 1915 et la libération des territoires sous occupation turque. Pendant la «décennie terroriste» (de 1975 à 1985, des diplomates turcs sont assassinés partout dans le monde), de nombreux articles paraissent sur le sujet. «Stéph» apporte à son mouvement politique les pratiques d’agit-prop et des mao-spontex auxquelles il s’est formé lors de son passage à la GP. Les autres mouvements politiques arméniens sont aussi marqués par ces mutations, et les manifestations du 24 avril, date anniversaire du génocide arménien, prennent une tournure plus revendicative en France. La figure de Stéphane Indjeyan montre à quel point les relectures de Mai 68 sont encore bien loin d’épuiser la richesse du mouvement.

“Article 3” club jointly with “MIND” NGO has organized an exhibition titled “Faces and Events of the Revolution”. It is celebrated on July 5, the Constitution Day, symbolizing the unique victory in the realization of constitutional rights of the RA citizens.
Photos, posters, videos, slogans and jokes that were made during the Velvet Revolution were collected through an open statement.
By the way, July 5 marks the 2nd anniversary of the establishment of “Article 3” club.
The EU-Armenia comprehensive and enhanced partnership agreement will be fully ratified at the appointed time, EU Ambassador to Armenia Piotr Switalski said at the briefing.
Earlier the documents were approved by foreign affairs committee of the European Parliament.
The European Commission earlier said the parts of agreement related to trade will enable the EU and Armenia to work to enhance the regulatory environment in Armenia, thus improving the business climate and investment opportunities for Armenian and EU companies.
The EU-Armenia comprehensive and enhanced partnership agreement was signed on November 24, 2017 in Brussels. The agreement was ratified on April 18, 2018.
Հայաստանի ԿԳ նախարար Արայիկ Հարությունյանը Հայ Դեմոյանին կոչ է անում սթավել եւ լրջանալ։ Նախարարը նշում է, որ Հայկ Դեմոյանի Ֆեյսբուքյան գրաառումը, որը կոշտ որակումներ է պարունակում իր եւ փոխնախարար Հովհաննես հովհաննիսյանի հասցեին, չի համապատասխանում իրականությանը։
Ավելի վաղ Հայկ Դեմոյանը Facebook-ի իր էջում հայտարարել էր, որ իր բացակայության ընթացքում ԿԳ նախարարն ու փոխնախարարը ներխուժել են իր աշխատասենյակ: Նա սպառնացել էր ԿԳ նախարարին ու փոխնախարարին նոր բացահայտումներ կատարել նրանց վերաբերյալ։ Դեմոյանն ասել էր, որ պարացնելու է նրանց, նաեւ կոչ էր արել «չհաբռգել»:
Արայիկ Հարությունյանի խոսքով, Դեմոյանն արդեն տեւական ժամանակ որեւէ պաշտոն չունի։ «ԿԳ նախարարը եւ նախարարությունը Ցեղասպանության ինստիտուտ թանգարանի հիմնադիրն են, իսկ պարոն Դեմոյանը արդեն տեւական ժամանակ որեւէ պաշտոն չունի այդ ինստիտուտում», – նշել է նա ու հավելել, որ գնացել էր հանդիպելու ինստիտուտի ղեկավարության եւ անձնակազմի հետ, որովհետեւ տարբեր հրապարակումներ կային դրա հետ կապված:
«Այսինքն մենք այնտեղ գնացել էինք որպես լիազոր մարմին եւ պարոն Դեմոյանին լրջանալու եւ սթափվելու կոչ եմ անում, որովհետեւ էն, ինչ-որ նա գրել է, չի համապատասխանում իրականությանը», – ասաց նա՝ հավելելով Դեմոյանը ինստիտում աշխատասենյակ չունի, քանի որ տեւական ժամանակ որեւէ պաշտոն չի զբաղեցնում:
Նախարարը նաեւ ոորոշակի մանրամասներ ներկայացրեց Ցեղասպանության ինստիտուտում տիրող իրավիճակի մասին։ «Հայկ Դեմոյանը Ցեղասպանության ինստիտուտի ժամանակավոր պաշտոնակատարին ստիպել է, որ նա ազատման դիմում գրի եւ ըստ էության եկել եւ տնօրենի սենյակում է բազմել», – ասաց նա՝ տեղեկացնելով, որ Դեմոյանին զգուշացել են այդ ներխուժման հակաօրինական լինելու մասին։
Դիտարկմանը, թե Դեմոյանը գիտխորհրդի ղեկավարն է, Հարությունյանն ասել է, որ ինստիտուտը ՊՈԱԿ-ից հիմնադրամի է վերածվել, և սա վերանշանակումների անհրաժեշտություն է առաջացրել, իսկ Դեմոյանը «չի նշանակվել»:
«Հակաօրինական է եւ շարունակելու դեպքում մենք կդիմենք ոստիկանություն: Մեզ նամակներ եղան, եւ մենք գնացինք ինստիտուտ ու հանդիպեցինք անձնակազմի հետ: Մենք խնդիրների մասին ենք հարցրել եւ որեւէ հարց բացի ֆինանսական փոխանցումների մասին, չի հնչել», – ասաց նա՝ նշելով, որ սա պարոն Դեմոյանի անձնական կապրիզներն են:
«Ես այս հարցով գրավոր կդիմեմ ոստիկանապետին, որպեսզի այս կարգազանցին, որեւէ պաշտոն չունեցող ինքնակոչին կարգի հրավիրի, որպեսզի օրինականություն հաստատվի ինստիտուտում», – ասաց նախարարը՝ նկատելով, որ այս պահին Ցեղասպանության ինստիտուտը ունի ժամանակավոր պաշտոնակատար՝ Գեւորգ Վարդանյանը։ Հետագայում, նշում նախարարը, տեղի կունենա նաեւ ինստիտուտի տնօրենի ընտրություն՝ համապատասխան կարգով: «Առաջիկայում կառավարության նիստում թանգարան-ինստիտուտի նոր տնօրեն կնշանակվի», – ասաց նա:
Նշենք, որ նախարարի մեկնաբանություններին ի պատասխան Հայկ Դեմոյանը նոր գրառում է կատարել facebook-ի իր էջում եւ հինգ հարց ուղղել ԿԳ նախարար Արայիկ Հարությունյանին։
«1. Ինչո՞ւ մեկ ամսվա ընթացքում ժամանակ չունեցաք հանդիպելու ու ստեղծված իրավիճակը համատեղ քննարկելու իմ առաջարկներին պատասխանելու համար:
2․ Արդյո՞ք տեղյակ էիք, որ Հովհաննես Հովհաննիսյանը հենց ձեր անունից էր հոխորտում ոստիկանների միջոցով ինձ դուրս հանել թանգարանից:
3․ ԿԳՆ իրավաբանական վարչության պետը նախորդ շաբաթ ինձ հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ նշեց, որ մի քանի դրվագով խախտվել են իմ իրավունքները: Դուք կիսու՞մ եք այդ տեսակետը:
4․ Արդյո՞ք ճիշտ եք համարում որևէ մեկի սենյակ մուտք գործելը առանց թույլտվության կամ որևէ մեկի ներկայության:
5․ Պատրաստ եք արդյո՞ք մամուլի ասուլիսի ձևաչափով հանդիպել ցանկացած վայրում, այս հիմնախնդիրներին անդրադառնալու և բոլոր հարցերին պատասխանելու համար», – հարցնում է Դեմոյանը:
The healthcare ministry is investigating the likelihood of human infection of tuberculosis from animals in Yerevan Zoo after the zoo said an outbreak occurred in early 2018.
Healthcare minister Arsen Torosyan told reporters that no tuberculosis case has been detected in the zoo after January-February.
“The study into the threat of human infection is in the final phase. The zoo employees have already been examined,” the minister said.
Earlier on June 15, the healthcare ministry issued a statement urging visitors of the zoo to refrain from feeding the animals and to maintain precautions.
