EDUARD NALBANDYAN: ARMENIA EXPECTS CERTAIN STEPS FROM HUNGARY TO REGULATE RELATIONS

12:32, 17 April, 2013

YEREVAN, APRIL 17, ARMENPRESS: The Republic of Armenia is ready to
regulate the relations with Hungary if the latter makes corresponding
steps. This was reported by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of
the Republic of Armenia Eduard Nalbandyan at the joint press conference
held on April 17 with the Secretary General of the European Council
Thorbjørn Jagland. “Armenia is always ready to normalize the relations
with Hungary but in its turn Hungary should make corresponding steps”,
– said Eduard Nalbandyan, according to Armenpress.

On February 19 2004 in Budapest Azerbaijani assassin Ramil Safarov,
who axe-murdered Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan while sleeping,
when they were participating in NATO English Language Courses in the
capital of Hungary, was sentenced to life imprisonment without right
to be pardoned for 30 years.

On August 31 2012 Safarov was extradited from Hungary to Azerbaijan
and was pardoned by the President Ilham Aliyev. The murderer was
advanced to mayor, provided with an apartment and granted “national
hero”. Armenia suspended diplomatic relations and all official ties
with Hungary. This step of Azerbaijan emerged the criticism of the
international community.

By the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia a working
group was established on the international appeal against the pardoning
of Safarov.

Arf-D To Decide To Attend Or Not Raffi Hovannisian’s Meeting In Ani

ARF-D TO DECIDE TO ATTEND OR NOT RAFFI HOVANNISIAN’S MEETING IN ANI HOTEL IF HERITAGE TELLS WHAT WILL HAPPEN THERE

10:27 ~U 16.04.13

If the Heritage informs what is going to happen at the April 19 meeting
in Ani hotel, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun
will discuss and decide to attend the meeting or not, member of ARF-D
Supreme Body Aghvan Vardanyan told Tert.am.

Earlier it has been stated that the meeting will be dedicated to
creation of Raffi Hovannisian’s national front.

“ARF-D participated in all the rallies of Raffi Hovannisian including
in the last one but what Raffi is going to do on April 19 is not
clear. At the rally he stated that he invites all to Ani hotel on
April 19,” Vardanyan said, voicing hope that till that Heritage will
more clearly say what it is going to do. He said ARF-D rates high the
movement and Hovannisian’s role in it believing that he can do more
and in better way if his steps are organized and serve for solution
of clear issues.

Referring to the talks that the movement may enter a deadlock that
there are disputes and differences, Vardanyan said such issues exist
but they are secondary. He said the more important thing is to continue
the movement and they are ready to do everything on their behalf to
keep it alive.

“We do not have the issue of assessing Raffi Hovannisian, we have
always said that we are ready to head, lead, be engaged in activities
we have discussed,” Vardanyan said.

The MP also noted that all the steps which are being done without
discussion or spontaneously cannot be acceptable. He said such actions
were registered on April 9 that is why ARF-D leadership was not there.

Students hold flags of countries that have recognized the Genocide

April is a very important month for all Armenians, especially those in
the diaspora due to the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. This
year marks the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As part
of this very significant commemoration, schools around the diaspora
participate in events that will bring awareness to our youth about
the Armenian Genocide and its role in our survival as a nation.

On April 4, 2013, Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School commenced
this commemoration with an assembly where students and faculty
participated. The assembly opened with teachers, Vartan Mikayelyan,
Taline Apanian, Sona Madarian, and students presenting their thoughts
and emotions about the genocide.

This was followed by a procession of students holding flags of the
countries that have currently recognized the existence of the Armenian
Genocide. Finally, the closing speech was given by Dr. Alina Dorian.

Dr. Dorian urged students to continue to pursue a life of being a
true Armenian. She urged students to not only practice and learn
about their culture and traditions, but lead the future by gaining
acceptance and recognition of the Armenian Genocide as truth.

Dr.Dorian also pointed out that it is now their responsibility to
make sure more flags would be added to the list of countries that
have already given recognition, especially the United States and most
importantly Turkey.

She also reminded students that Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School
was founded by survivors of the Armenian Genocide for survivors, as
we all are. This being said, she stressed the importance of not losing
our existence as a nation as the Turks had originally intended. As many
of our students expressed in their own writing, “No, not ever again!”

Petition A L’attention De La Commission Europeenne Par Le Collectif

a l’exil.

a deja commence.

regime Erdogan tient notre pays.
