“I consider unacceptable offensive Galust Sahakyan’s expression,
addressed to deputy Zaruhi Postanjyan. If we even put aside Sahakyan’s
age, the status of the parliament, purely his behavior is not
appropriate for a man”, today during a meeting with journalists at the
National Assembly of Armenia the head of “heritage’ parliamentary
faction Ruben Hakobyan said

“It is als unacceptable when members of our group allow themselves
tsimilar expressions. After Postanjyan’s last performance I told her
about it. But Galust Sahakyan’s offensive expressions, I think,
exceeded all occasions in Parliament, which concerned the political
insults. I believe that Sahakyan must have courage to ask for
forgiveness from Postanjyan” Hakobyan said.

Recall, at the meeting of the National Assembly head of RPA faction
Galust Sahakyan said: “This pious mistress (I mean Postanjyan) must be
educated fact that the National Assembly is not track to brake the car
and when they do not stop, be offended.”

British photojournalist presents the truth about Artsakh

British photojournalist presents the truth about Artsakh

Gita Elibekyan
`Radiolur’
Tbilisi

Although a citizen of a pro-Azerbaijani country, British
photojournalist Russell Pollard is committed to truthful presentation
of Armenia and Artsakh related issues and the coverage of the Armenian
Genocide.

The British journalist’s first visit to Armenia in September 2009
coincided with Independence Day celebrations. `It was a very emotional
time,’ Pollard told `Radiolur’ correspondent in Tbilisi. He remembers
taking to people in the Republic Square in Yerevan and taking photos
with them.

In 2010 Pollard paid his first visit to Artsakh. He has a number of
photos and human stories from the two Armenian states. To make them
accessible to public, he created the website.

`When a website is run by Armenians, people say it’s just Armenian
propaganda, if it is run by Azeris, they say it’s Azeri propaganda. I
don’t have any connection with anybody. So, hopefully, people would
take some credence and belief in what I’ve written. I’m trying to be
balanced,’ he said.

However, the British photojournalist cannot work in Azerbaijan, as the
authorities of that country blacklist all foreigners, who have visited
Nagorno Karabakh.

Pollard is learning Armenian. He visited Armenia and Artsakh twice.
His website has 5,000 daily visitors, 4,500 people follow it in
Facebook.

On 21 May, 2013 a meeting with Russell Pollard took place at the
`Hayartun’ Cultural Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic
Church in Georgia.

After that the freelance photojournalist told about, how he randomly
appeared in the Armenian capital Yerevan, became interested in the
country and immersed himself in the study of its history and culture.
Boundless love of the people of this country to the native language,
the unique alphabet, the lost motherland, Mount Ararat – these are the
facts that attracted Russell Pollard to Armenia.

Levon Zurabyan: Authorities concealed information about increase in gas price

14:04 24/05/2013 » ECONOMY

`We heard sensational information yesterday. The point is that on May
13, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) received a bid on
the increase in price for natural gas, with a contract stipulating
that the new gas price entered into force on April 1,” head of
Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliamentary faction Levon Zurabyan
told a parliamentary briefing today.

Levon Zurabyan participated in the discussion on gas price increase on
Thursday, May 23. He claims to have received this information from
PSRC Chairman Robert Nazaryan.

According to Zurabyan, the authorities concealed the information about
the increase in gas price due to the May 5 Yerevan municipal
elections.

`In fact, the new price was effective on April 1 and there is a formal
contract that was presented to PSRC on May 13,’ the ANC member said.

US ambassador believes Carrefour will open in Armenia – newspaper

May 24, 2013 | 07:56

YEREVAN. – The Haykakan Zhamanak daily’s reporter asked US Ambassador
John Heffern why he is concerned that the French well-known Carrefour
hypermarket chain might not open in Armenia, the daily reports.

“I believe Carrefour will open in Armenia. I am not involved in this
matter. I have learned that it will open in Armenia at the year’s end.
Ask the French ambassador about it,’ Ambassador Heffern said.

To our reporter’s query what consequences will Armenia’s membership in
EurAsEC [i.e., Eurasian Economic Community] have on the relations
between our country and the West, the US ambassador responded:

`Armenia works well with the EU; we support this work. Armenia has to
make its own decisions. It must be able to balance these relations,”
Haykakan Zhamanak quotes.

Ineffective activity of Minsk Group on settlement of Nagorno Karabakh
conflict to be raised at OSCE PA summer session

[ 22 May 2013 14:52 ]

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. `OSCE Minsk Group has been dealing with
the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, but no result has
been produced yet,’ Bahar Muradova, head of the Azerbaijani delegation
to OSCE PA and vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, told
journalists, APA reports.

She noted that the ineffective activity of OSCE Minsk Group for years
will be raised in OSCE PA summer session next month: `The remarks to
the Minsk Group regarding the lack of results are correct. Paradox is
that it has been functioning for several years, but there is no
result. This issue will be absolutely raised and assessed.’

BAKU: Azerbaijan commanded to “bring Russia down” at Eurovision

Turan: Azerbaijan commanded to “bring Russia down” at Eurovision
Song Contest 2013

17:11 22/05/2013 » SOCIETY

If we consider that all the mobile operators in Baku “respect” the
authorities, and the voting process is under the control, and if we
believe in the Lithuanian disclosure about vote buying up by
Azerbaijan, then, according to this situation, the logic of events
suggests that someone in Baku has impulsively commanded to ” bring
Russia down,” Azerbaijani news agency “Turan” writes.

“It is typical for the Azerbaijani policy to take impulsive and hasty
decisions without rendering the consequences. This has become
noticeable during the last year, after the politically failing in
Eurovision-2012,” reads the agency.

According to an article, the attempts to build bridges with the
anti-US axis in the area of Moscow and Tehran, and, at the same time,
the attempts to enlist the support of Washington -Tel-Aviv axis
against the Russian-Iranian tandem also became scandalous failures of
Aliyev administration.

As the authors note, that the withdrawal of the Russian radar Station
from Gabala, reduction of purchases of gas from Azerbaijan, the
termination of oil transportation, purchase of Israeli arms instead of
Russian by Azerbaijan are in the logical chain. “This is just the
obvious bunch of the set of problems existing between Baku and Moscow,
not to mention the formation of the new Diaspora force in Russia,
formed under the Kremlin’s patronage, which has its vision on the
destiny of the presidential elections in Azerbaijan,” Turan reads.

The authors consider it improbable that Azerbaijan would bring a solid
proof of “pro-Russian” vote.

“If there were any violations during the vote on the final of”
Eurovision” then we would receive the signal so far. The Voting is
conducted by our partner Digamo and is assessed by
PriceWatersHouseCoopers Company. If there were any questions, we would
have received a signal.

As far as we know, everything was smooth,” the coordinator of the
European Broadcasting Union’s Eurovision Jarmo Siim said in an
interview with `BBC-Azerbaijan.’

In fact, the agency notes, there was no prompt reaction on the result
of votes on Azerbaijani side, except for the pro-government comments
of Facebook activists, who tried to maliciously justify the “null
vote.” The reaction appeared only as a response to a perturbation of
the Russian society.

“Probably, in the higher echelons of the power they realized that have
gone too far with the hated Eurovision and the Kremlin.
Everything is mixed up in the Azerbaijani state both politics and the
culture – a struggle of antipodes,” the article says.

Jan Feddersen, the leading German expert on “Eurovision” song contest,
said in an interview given to Deutsche Welle that is against of
holding the competition in countries such as Azerbaijan, Ukraine and
Russia. He said he was glad that Denmark won this year, because this
is the Europe, where in theoretically and practically the highest
standards of civil society operate, which cannot be said about
Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

“I am very glad that these two countries did not win the contest. Of
course, it should be admitted that performances of participants from
Azerbaijan, Ukraine, as well as from Russia, who took the fifth place,
meet the highest standards,” he said. To his opinion, these countries
should not be given another chance to hold the Eurovision again.

According to him, the European Broadcasting Union should give all
countries the opportunity to participate in the competition, but this
organization, as well as the Council of Europe, “should monitor the
countries conducting the competition in order to detect whether the
basic principles of human rights and democracy adopted on the
continent have been preserved.”

“The European Broadcasting Union should include in its charter an
article providing penalties for the violation of democratic
principles, even if some regard this amendment as discriminatory.
However, the violation of such principles should not remain
unpunished,” he stressed.

To the question that, the European media were giving a detailed
coverage of the political situation in Azerbaijan, when the
“Eurovision” was held in Baku, the expert answered that “the debate on
human rights in Azerbaijan was not fruitful.”

Boston and the CIA `Snafu’ Part II:

Boston and the CIA `Snafu’ Part II:

Monday, May 20th, 2013 | Posted by F. William Engdahl

The grey eminence behind Turkey’s Erdogan and AKP

By F. William Engdahl

The open press statement of denial by senior reportedly former CIA
official Graham Fuller in April of a link between the Boston Bombings
and the CIA, labeling the reports `absurd,’ may go down in history as
one of the worst intelligence blunders in the past century. The public
admission by Fuller, on a website reported tied to the CIA, of his
relationship to the Uncle of the alleged but not ever convicted Boston
bombers [1] opened a can of worms the CIA might well wish never had
been opened.
In the first part, we discussed the role of CIA’s Fuller in creating
the policy of using angry Jihadist Muslims as trained terrorists in
Afghanistan and elsewhere against the Soviet Union.
A deeper look into Fuller’s role reveals him to be a key figure in
what FBI whistle-blower Sibel Edmonds terms American Deep State
rogues. Edmonds worked as an FBI translator from Turkish, Azerbaijani
and Farsi languages during and after September 11, 2001 when she
uncovered damning email and other evidence of criminal networks
linking the actors of 911, drug networks out of Turkey and terrorists
in and around Al Qaeda together with senior Pentagon and other US
Government officials.[2]
Fuller A Deep State Rogue
As later identified, among the people uncovered by Edmonds’
translation efforts at FBI were notorious neoconservative Richard
Perle, Iraq war architect who headed Bush’s Defense Policy Board
advisory committee in 2001; Douglas Feith, neocon Under-Secretary of
Defense under Bush-Cheney; Anwar Yusuf Turani,[3] key figure in the
anti-Beijing Uygur separatist operations under the name East Turkistan
National Freedom Center in Washington DC. East Turkistan is their name
for China’s Xinjiang Province where Uygur riots took place several
years ago. Turani modestly calls himself President-in-exile, East
Turkistan (Xinjiang), though it’s by no means clear who if anyone
elected him.

In her classified translations Edmonds discovered that a criminal
network had penetrated the highest levels of the US Government
including Pentagon and FBI, and were engaged in illegal sales of
weapons, including nuclear, of drugs and more. Criminal activities
were being protected by claims of State Secrets, she asserted.
Repeated attempts to call attention inside the FBI to what she was
convinced was a conspiracy against the United States from within came
to no avail. Her gripping account to bring attention to an alarming
rogue network inside Washington is the subject of her autobiography,
Classified Woman ` The Sibel Edmonds Story. [4]
Attorney General John Ashcroft went all the way to the Supreme Court
to muzzle her under a little-used Doctrine of State Secrets. Edmonds,
suffering under an unprecedented Bush Administration gag order, was
banned from revealing the complicity of high-ranking US and Turkish
figures uncovered by her and duly reported at FBI before she was fired
in 2002 for `blowing the whistle.’ She partly got around the
Government gag by posting photos with no comment on her website.
Others filled in the names.[5]
Graham Fuller was one of the 21 American Deep State rogues Edmonds posted.
Graham Fuller seems to be in center of every CIA operation involving
`political Islam’
In 1995, according to investigative journalist Daniel Hopsicker, the
uncle of the alleged Boston bombers, Ruslan Tsarnaev, `incorporated
the Congress of Chechen International Organizations in Maryland, using
as the address listed on incorporation documents 11114 Whisperwood
Lane, in Rockville Maryland, the home address of his
then-father-in-law.’ [6] Father-in-law was Graham Fuller whose
daughter was married to Uncle Ruslan.
Chechnya, an autonomous province of Russia deeply involved in oil
pipelines from the Caspian Sea, has been the scene of Islamic jihad
terrorists since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. In 1995
when Uncle Ruslan founded the Congress of Chechen International
Organizations from Graham Fuller’s home, the Islamist Jihad terror war
against Moscow was raging full-force in Chechnya. Putin and Russian
intelligence have repeatedly claimed the terrorism was being fed from
outside.
As more is coming out on the role of Fuller, the evidence points to
the conclusion that the Chechnya terrorists were also a project
bearing the footprints of the `former’ CIA political Islam expert,
Graham Fuller. By 1988 Fuller had formally moved from a very senior
post at CIA to the neo-conservative think tank, RAND Corporation,
where he officially worked on the `Middle East, Central Asia, South
and Southeast Asia, and problems of ethnicity and religion.’ [7]
While at RAND Fuller played a key role gaining asylum for a Turkish
national in the USA. Fetullah Gülen, a Turkish national who was forced
to flee in 1999 and seek asylum, won his US residence permit due to
the intervention of two senior CIA or former men. One was Graham E.
Fuller. [8]
Foreign Policy Journal describes the role of Fuller and the CIA in
getting indicted Turkish fugitive Gülen asylum in the USA: `Fethullah
Gülen became a green card holder despite serious opposition from FBI
and from Homeland Security Department. Former CIA officers (formally
and informally) such as Graham Fuller and Morton Abromovitz were some
of the prominent references in Gülen’s green card application.’ [9]
Jihad Spreads to Central Asia
>From his new luxurious heavily-guarded estate in Saylorsburg, a remote
part of eastern Pennsylvania, Gülen launched a series of
fundamentalist Salafist mosques and madrasses, not only in his native
Turkey where he was the alleged power behind Turkey’s AKP regime of
Recep Tayyip ErdoÄ?an, himself a product of Gülen’s schools, but across
the Islamic regions of Central Asia as they separated from the Soviet
Union in the chaos after 1991.[10]
According to Edmonds, an authority on the subject, `US Islamization
Operations in Central Asia via Gülen started in late 1997, early 1998.
That brings me to ¦Graham Fuller.’ [11]
A memoir by former head of Turkish intelligence, Osman Nuri Gundes,
claims that Fethullah Gülen’s worldwide Islamic movement based in
Pennsylvania has been providing cover for the CIA since the mid-1990s,
and that in the 90s, the movement `sheltered 130 CIA agents’ at its
schools in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan alone. [12]

Gülen schools in Russian Chechnya and Dagestan regions, both locations
of fanatical Jihadists since 1991, were ultimately banned by Putin.
The Russian government has banned all Gülen schools and the activities
of the Gülen-linked Nurcu sect in Russia. Over 20 Turkish followers of
Gülen were deported from Russia in 2002-2004. In 1999 Uzbekistan
closed all Gülen’s Madrasas and shortly afterward arrested eight
journalists who were graduates of Gülen schools, and found them guilty
of setting up an illegal religious group and of involvement in an
extremist organization. In Turkmenistan, government authorities placed
Gülen’s schools under close scrutiny and have ordered them to scrap
the history of religion from curriculums.[13]
Responsible Turkish journalists I’ve met with relate that Gülen-loyal
police tied to Edrogan’s AKP have infiltrated the Turkish police,
intelligence services and other key state institution and are
systematically arresting, purging or silencing all nationalist
military, trade union and other secular figues opposed to creation of
an Islamic Sharia state in Turkey, uprooting ninety or more years of
Kemalist legal foundations. More than one hundred Turkish journalists
have been arrested for writing critically about the actions of Gülen’s
AKP.
Gülen’s public profile is as a humble, deeply spiritual Imam of love
and brotherhood. His record in practice is anything but. Gülen once
stated, `You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone
noticing your existence, until you reach all the power centers, until
the conditions are ripe.’ Sounds a bit like Lenin in the old days.
Certain networks in Washington including people in and around Fuller
obviously have no problem with that.
Why would the CIA and US agencies want Central Asia? As Obama adviser,
Zbigniew Brzezinski, notes in his now-famous book, The Grand
Chessboard, `For America, the chief geopolitical prize is
Eurasia¦America’s global primacy is directly dependent on how long and
how effectively its preponderance on the Eurasian continent is
sustained¦It follows that America’s primary interest is to help ensure
that no single power comes to control this geopolitical space and that
the global community has unhindered financial and economic access to
it.’
Washington has used Turkey and the AKP fundamentalist networks of
Gülen to wreak havoc across the post-communist oil and mineral-rich
regions of Central Asia. Graham Fuller’s foot prints are all over
those covert operations as are Fetullah Gülen’s. In 2008 Fuller
published a book titled, `The New Turkish Republic: Turkey as a
Pivotal State in the Muslim World.’ As Sibel Edmonds describes, the
process involved using Turkey with assistance from `actors from
Pakistan, and Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia’ as a proxy, which in turn
used Bin Laden and the Taliban and others as a proxy terrorist army
before 911. [14]
Edmonds notes regarding US operations in Central Asia, `This started
more than a decade-long illegal, covert operation in Central Asia by a
small group in the US intent on furthering the oil industry and the
Military Industrial Complex, using Turkish operatives, Saudi partners
and Pakistani allies, furthering this objective in the name of Islam.’
[15]
What did Uncle Ruslan Tsarnaev, uncle of the Boston alleged bombers do
when he was married to Graham Fuller’s daughter? Ruslan worked for
companies connected to Halliburton, doing oil deals in the Caucasus
and as `consultant’ for the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID) in the former Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan. Russia barred
USAID from its soil in late 2012, alleging USAID together with CIA was
attempting to influence the internal political processes in the
country.[16]
Some are beginning to ask whether the Boston bombing might have been a
deception operation carried out by the Rogues associated with Graham
Fuller and the network within the CIA and Pentagon, to make it appear
Putin was behind the ghastly events. In any case, when Graham Fuller
went to the press to publicly denounce CIA links to the Tsarnaevs he
made what is likely to go down as one of the greatest snafus in US
intelligence history. He lost his cool, and with it, has put the
spotlight on the entire CIA-sponsored Islamic Jihadist operations run
through Fetullah Gülen across Turkey into Central Asia and Russia and
China.

Shavarsh Qocharyan: Azerbaijan should recognize Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic and start negotiations

Wed, 05/22/2013 – 16:23

Deputy-Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Qocharyan in response to
the question of `Armenpress’ agency

Question:

Recently, in Australia the President of Azerbaijan, speaking about
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, announced about inadmissibility of
preserving the status quo, and that the change of status quo means the
removal of Armenian forces from so called “occupied Azerbaijani
territories”. How would you interpret this statement?

Answer:

It is not a secret to anyone that such constant statements by
Azerbaijan aim to prevent the change of status quo.

If Azerbaijan really wants to change the status quo, then they would
reach an agreement around the principles proposed by the Minsk group
chairs and would foster the peaceful process, rather than would
overturn as in Kazan.

Azerbaijan has only one chance to satisfy his unappeasable desire to
reach the change of status quo through the bypass of the negotiating
format of 3 chairmen. For that Azerbaijan should recognize
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and start negotiations around the
consequences of its aggression, including the current status quo.

The attempt of the Azerbaijani at falsifying Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
and peace process is useless. A similar falsification, as well as the
dissemination of hatred and racist statements and actions against the
Armenians, only increases the responsibility of the Azerbaijani
leadership for the massacres and ethnic cleanings against Armenians,
military aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and as a result
of it the occupation of NKR territories by Azerbaijan.

L. Zurabian: Why was information about gas price increase withheld?

L. Zurabian: Why was information about gas price increase withheld?

Thursday,
May 23

During the `question & answer hour’ in the parliament today, deputy of
Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Levon Zurabian asked Minister
of Economy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisian why information about
the increase in gas tariff was withheld from the people and if it had
anything to do with the elections.

The minister replied that a higher price of gas would be set if the
issue were voiced. `We needed to gain time to achieve the best result
for Armenia,’ Armen Movsisian said.

As regards a connection between the gas tariff and the elections, the
minister denied such a possibility, noting that it is an economic
deal.

Levon Zurabain said bad news is usually announced after an election.
`The impression is that a deal has been closed with the Russian side’.

Armen Movsisian replied that in reality there is no connection.

`Reports about criminalization of contacts with Armenians are a hoax

`Reports about criminalization of contacts with Armenians are a hoax’

Wednesday,
May 22

The Azerbaijani media reported recently that Azerbaijan will adopt a
law, under which criminal cases will be opened against foreign
tourists wishing to enter Karabakh, as well as against persons who
establish close contacts with Armenians. In the opinion of Sargis
Asatrian, an expert on Azerbaijan, these reports are just a hoax
spread by Azerbaijani authorities.

`This hoax is directed mainly at Azerbaijanis as Aliyev has the
problem of unifying the population ahead of the elections,’ S.
Asatrian noted.

In his words, citizens who were in touch with Armenians have always
received `special treatment’ in Azerbaijan.

`Even without any law, these people are the center of special
services’ attention,’ Sargis Asatrian said, stressing that even if
such a law is adopted, it will happen without any fuss.

`Many experts in Azerbaijan say that such a law would rule out a
peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict’, Asatrian noted.

It should be mentioned that the official website of Milli Majlis
(Azerbaijani parliament) also refuted the information about adoption
of the abovementioned law.
