England’s Leicester City have expressed an interest in Spartak Moscow
striker Yura Movsisyan, the Daily Mail reports.

The 26-year-old Armenian smashed 21 goals in 34 games for the Russian
giants last season and is attracting interest from clubs in England,
Germany and Italy.

Movsisyan has also been linked with West Brom and is available for around £7m.

‘I’ve heard there may be some interested teams in England and
Germany,” Movsisyan said earlier this month. ‘Let’s see if that is
serious or not.

‘I’ve proven I can score goals wherever I have played and I have been
lucky to do so again this year with Spartak.

‘It wasn’t the season that we wanted but we have a quality group. I’m
up for a challenge and always want to test myself against the best.

‘If an offer is made for me, I can’t control the outcome. Spartak know
my ambition and all parties need to be satisfied. Either way, I want
success on the field.’

ministre turc.

Georgia’s National Security Council To Consider Possibility Of Direc

GEORGIA’S NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER POSSIBILITY OF DIRECT RAILWAY SERVICE WITH RUSSIA THROUGH ABKHAZIA

Friday, June 20, 09:58

Georgia’s National Security Council will consider the possibility of
a direct railway service with Russia through Abkhazia, the leader of
the majority of the Georgian Parliament Georgy Volsky told journalists
on Thursday.

Georgia-Online quotes him as saying that it is early yet to do
this as it first necessary to attain progress in Georgian-Abkhazian
settlement. “Here we should give priority to our national interests.

We can discuss this project but we should not hurry to make it true,”
Volsky said.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Georgia’s State Minister for Reconciliation
and Civil Equality Paata Zakareishvili commented on the statement by
Vladimir Yakunin who urged more specific efforts on opening of the
railway communication via Abkhazia and Georgia to Armenia.

Zakareishvili said that the issue is not discussed so far, though
it may become a subject for discussion in future between Georgia
and Russia, particularly, between Georgian Prime Minister’s Special
Representative for the relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and
Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin.

According to the study “Rehabilitation of the railways in the South
Caucasus” issued by the International Alert British NGO, the potential
costs of rehabilitating the South Caucasus railways, in particular
the Sochi-Sukhum/i-Tbilisi-Yerevan railway, will totaled $277.5 mln,
which can be returned in 100 years no sooner.

Restoration of the 190km section Psou-Inguri will cost $251 million.

The Inguri-Zugdigi section will cost $26.5 million dollars. The section
from Zugdigi to Tbilisi and farther to Yerevan needs no repair. It
is noteworthy that Abkhazian experts estimate rehabilitation of the
railway at $350-$400 million. Meanwhile, Georgian experts claim that
the project will cost some $73 million.

SERZH SARGSYAN: ARMENIA SEEKS RESTORATION OF DIRECT RAILWAY COMMUNICATION BETWEEN GEORGIA AND RUSSIA VIA ABKHAZIA

by Marianna Lazarian

Friday, June 20, 10:55

Armenia seeks restoration of direct railway communication linking
Georgia and Russia via the territory of Abkhazia, but is no ‘serious
talk’ on that topic so far, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan told
Rustavi-2 TV, Novosti-Gruzia reports. The Armenian president is on
an official visit to Georgia these days.

“However, we want that railway to function. It is of vital importance
for us,” Serzh Sargsyan said. Nevertheless, the president said,
opening of the railway does not depend on Armenia and Russia only. “It
depends also on other countries, therefore we are actively working on
the issue,” he said. Earlier, on Wednesday, Georgia’s State Minister
for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Paata Zakareishvili commented
on the statement by Vladimir Yakunin who urged more specific efforts
on opening of the railway communication via Abkhazia and Georgia to

Azerbaijani Deputies Refuse To Participate In NATO Seminar In Yereva

AZERBAIJANI DEPUTIES REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN NATO SEMINAR IN YEREVAN

by Nana Martirosyan

Friday, June 20, 09:56

During the three days of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s 84th
Rose-Roth seminar in Baku the participants in the seminar were tired
of the Azerbaijani demagogy representing Armenia as an “aggressor”,
the head of the Armenian delegation to the NATO PA Koryun Nahapetyan
told journalists today.

He also added that the provocation of the Azerbaijani delegates was
accompanied during the three days of the seminar. “Representatives
of international organizations did not take part in the discussions
because of the Azerbaijani delegation, which was inadequate and
childish. At the same time, we made them understand that not Armenia
but Azerbaijan is an aggressor as it unleashed the war against the
people of Nagornyy Karabakh and lost as a result of its aggression”,
– he said.

Nahapetyan said that next year the Rose Roth seminar will be held in
Yerevan, and the Azerbaijani delegation refused to take part in it,
as “there are no relevant conditions in Armenia”. “It is clear, that
they are not interested in participation, but I am sure that time
will show how reasonable their solution was “, – Nahapetyan emphasized.

Armenian President’s ‘Compliment’ To Turkish Counterpart And Its Imp

ARMENIAN PRESIDENT’S “COMPLIMENT” TO TURKISH COUNTERPART AND ITS IMPLICATIONS

12:19 â~@¢ 20.06.14

“Turkish President Abdullah Gul is a broad-minded person, who is well
aware of his state’s real interests.”

The aforecited statement Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan addressed
to Turkey’s president during the Interview program on the Public
Television of Armenia has largely been interpreted and discussed as a
“compliment” by official Yerevan, Mihran Hakobyan, lecturer at Yerevan
State University, told Tert.am.

Hardly anyone noticed serious implications in that simple sentence.

Moreover, that statement was addressed to Turkish Premier Recep
Erdogan in a negative sense rather than to President Abdullah Gul in
a positive sense.

“[He] is well aware of his state’s real interests.” This is what
Armenia’s president says of his Turkish counterpart. But focus your
attention on the word “real.”

What are the real interests the Erdogan camp is unaware of? The
establishment of relations of a new quality with neighbors, and the
development of a policy of open borders and civilized discussions.

Finally, the implementation of the “zero problems with neighbors”
fundamental program authored by Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu, which
program was frustrated by the Erdogan cabinet.

Erdogan’s policy of preconditions is known to have played a key role
in the freezing of Armenia-Turkey rapprochement process (much has been
talked about it). And that very fact was signaled by President Serzh
Sargsyan in his interview, which, regrettably, has not correctly been
perceived by many.

It should also be remembered that that was not the first such statement
Armenia’s leader addressed to his Turkish counterpart. In his statement
on the frozen ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols, Armenia’s
president expressed special thanks to President Abdullah Gul for
his constructive position, with implied criticism of Premier Recep
Erdogan’s destructive approaches. Time will show the real aims of that
step. One thing is clear: before April 24, 2015, official Yerevan will
be making new steps, and the first signs of such steps can now be seen.
