mi carta anterior, no es que Suiza se niegue a aceptar “mas turcos”;

Armenia And Iran To Double Trade Turnover

ARMENIA AND IRAN TO DOUBLE TRADE TURNOVER

The Messenger, Georgia
July 18 2013

By Messenger Staff

Thursday, July 18
The Tehran Trade Industrial Chamber announced its desire to establish
intense trade relations with its neighboring countries, in particular,
with Armenia. Around 100 Armenian and 60 Iranian companies and
businessmen participated in the Armenian-Iran business forum recently
held in Erevan. Iran is considering the further increase of its trade
and transit operations in Armenia. Armenia could become a good partner
for Iran in terms of transiting its goods in to/out of CIS countries.

Currently, Iran-Armenian trade turnover is more than $300 million USD.

However, the parties plan to double this figure. Iran has invited
Armenian businessmen to enter Iran and start businesses there.

Eventually it should be considered that the increase of trade between
Iran, Armenia and other CIS countries will increase the significance
of Georgia as a transit route of such cooperation.

which has killed 18 people.

The crash occurred around 1 p.m. Saturday, when the Kamaz truck

On Monday, the driver of the truck, Hrachya Harutyunyan, was jailed.

Hrachya Harutyunyan Needs Not Only Legal, But Also Moral-Psychologic

HRACHYA HARUTYUNYAN NEEDS NOT ONLY LEGAL, BUT ALSO MORAL-PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT
17:45 18.07.2013

Lusine Vasilyan
“Radiolur”

I’m ready to leave for Moscow and defend our compatriot Hrachya
Harutyunyan, member of the Chamber of Advocates, attorney Ruben Baloyan
told reporters today. He’s confident that Harutyunyan needs not only
legal, but also moral-psychological support.

President of the Analytical Centre on Globalization and Regional
Cooperation Stepan Grigoryan considers that Armenia should take steps
to extradite Hrachya Harutyunyan to Armenia and hold the trial here.

Stepan Grigoryan offers condolences not only to the families of the
18 victims of the tragic accident near Moscow on July 13, but also
to the relatives of all those killed in Russia in car accidents at
the fault of drunk drivers.

“I have looked at the statistics. The number of people killed in
crashes at the fault of drunk drivers has been about 100 times more
this year,” he said.

Grigoryan considers that on the days following the accident Russian
media violated the rules of journalistic ethics constantly mentioning
his nationality and failing to maintain the resumption of innocence.

The political scientist is satisfied with the reaction of the Ministry
of Foreign affairs. Yesterday representatives of the Armenian Embassy
in Russia met with Harutyunyan at the pre-trial prison. They assure
the conditions there are satisfactory. Representatives of the Embassy
have promised to arrange a phone conversation with the family in the
near future.

Stepan Grigoryan sayd it would be better if the Ambassador or the
Deputy Ambassador visited Hrachya Harutyunyan. As for the perspectives
of his extradition, Grigoryan said all necessary legal bases exist
between Armenia and Russia to organize it.

He’s confident the issue should be raised before the trial. “Russia
is obviously politicizing the issue. It will be naïve to expect that
the trial will be fair,” he added.

Member of the Chamber of Advocates Ruben Baloyan is ready to leave
for Moscow and defend our compatriot. According to him, there are two
ways to involve Armenian lawyers in the process. Either the Chamber
of Advocates should dispatch a lawyer, or Harutyunyan’s relatives
must apply to attorneys.

Having analyzed the details of the accident, Baloyan is confident
that Hrachya Harutyunyan has managed to make a correct decision to
avoid a greater number of victims.

No Blitzkrieg Chance For Azerbaijan, NKR President Says

NO BLITZKRIEG CHANCE FOR AZERBAIJAN, NKR PRESIDENT SAYS

YEREVAN, July 18./ARKA/. Azerbaijan won’t be able to make blitzkrieg in
case of unleashing military actions, President of the Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic Bako Sahakyan said in his exclusive interview with “Azg”
(Nation) Armenian newspaper.

“The defense army is certainly ready to counteract against any attacks
of the enemy, including neutralizing the blitzkrieg attack.

Nevertheless, I should note this scenario is just unreal given a number
of reasons. We have a strong defense system which can stop any attack
like that,” Sahakyan said in his interview. For the full interview,
please follow

In addition, the president said if the enemy attacks Artsakh again,
it will break a patriotic war, whole Artsakh and whole Armenianhood
will fight against the enemy.

“Blitzkrieg is impossible here,” he added.

The Karabakh conflict emerged in 1988 when prevailingly Armenian
population of Nagorno-Karabakh declared withdrawal fr om Azerbaijan.

On December 10, 1991, a referendum was held in Nagorno-Karabakh wh
ere 99.89% voted for independence from Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan responded by large-scale military operations that led
to loss of control not only over Nagorno-Karabakh itself, but also
over seven adjoining areas. About 25-30 thousands people were killed
and about a million had to leave their homes during the military
operations.

A trilateral cease-fire agreement was signed on May 12, 2004, and
has been followed since then.

The ongoing Karabakh peace process started in 1992 under auspices of
OSCE Minsk Group co-chaired by the USA, Russia and France. -0-

ARF In France Bemoans Heavy Handed Tactics Of Catholicos Garegin II

ARF IN FRANCE BEMOANS HEAVY HANDED TACTICS OF CATHOLICOS GAREGIN II

00:00, July 18, 2013

The Central Committee of the ARF in France issued a statement yesterday
saying that it is following the story regarding the resignation of
Archbishop Norvan Zakarian, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church
of France, with great concern.

The ARF says that the public resignation of an Armenian Church leader
is unprecedented for the Armenian community in France and that it is
rife with grave consequences.

Archbishop Zakarian, who has served the Church honourably for the
past 45 years, the last seven as Primate, is described as a person
who has unified the community and supported efforts regarding the
Armenian Cause.

The ARF, in its statement, bemoans the heavy-handed tactics used
by Catholicos Garegin II in an attempt to interfere in the internal
administration of the French diocese and his inappropriate attitude
towards Archbishop Zakarian.

The political party warns that Etchmiadzin’s attempts to force a new
Primate on the French-Armenian community is unacceptable and may lead
to reopening the tragic divisions of the past.

The ARF calls for calm and introspection at this critical period,
arguing that the only resolution is to persuade Archbishop Zakarian
to reconsider his resignation decision, while at the same time calling
for dialog with Catholicos Garegin II.
