Let the issue of Genocide be entrusted to Jewish lawyers.

Arshaluys Tcheknavorian-Aisenbauer’s ‘prescription’, this time, had
two occasions to visit Armenia: to be awarded with “Movses Khorenatsi”
award on October 10 by the RA presidential decree, and the other
occasion was the school N5 after her father, Haykaz Tcheknavorian,
which was built in Artashat under her sponsorship. We asked the woman
living over 50 years in Austria to introduce the Australian-Armenian
community, which was led by her son, Hayk Aisenbauer, for seven years.

Arshaluys Tcheknavorian-Aisenbauer said that not only in Austria but
also in the whole Diaspora, Armenians are not united, the national
institutions are split and do not have friendly attitude towards
each other. “Unfortunately, we do not believe in unity, we do not
respect and love for one another, as soon as one makes achievements,
a jealousy arises. Armenians are more united to diminish the person.

Previously we did not have an independent country, and the activities
of institutions established outside were understandable: Armenian
Revolutionary Federation, Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, Henchakian
Party, and so on and so forth. And, now, what do these institutions
serve for in Diaspora? The political groups must be consolidated,
let’s look at the Europe, by uniting the thoughts, let’s make a good
country, Armenia. What are the Armenian Revolutionary Federation,
the Armenian Democratic Liberal Party, the Benevolent doing, are they
polarizing in the Diaspora?” Our interlocutor thinks that at least the
Genocide and its recognition should unite all Armenians. For example,
she has lectured at Bratislava regarding this matter. Working 40 years
in the United Nations, being in 170 countries, she has accumulated
rich experience. She says that she has studied the UN Genocide
Convention, and tried to understand how it can be served for the
issue of Genocide. According to Ms.

Tcheknavorian-Aisenbauer, Armenians while raising this issue should
emphasize the idea that they wanted to annihilate, eliminate Armenians,
and more. “We, Armenian, are very wrong that we think that the genocide
is over and it has happened in 1915-1918. The genocide is going on,
at that time we were exposed to red genocide, now – white.

Once the Turks, cooperating with the Bolsheviks, demanded Nakhichevan
and Karabakh, they, being affected by Masons, consider us a reason on
the way to recover pan-Turkic Empire.” Ms. Arshaluys mentioned that
her son has brought evidences in his scientific thesis that Russia had
no right to hand over Karabakh and Nakhichevan to Azerbaijan, because
there was no such Article in the Constitution, which does not give us
the right to donate others lands to someone else. Our interlocutor
said that we need to present our issue in a foreign country in a
competent form, relevant to people’s psychology and traditions. “I
am living in Austria for 50 years, my husband is an Austrian, Ervin
Aisenbauer who has turned to Armenia and speaks Armenian, but I can
not speak about genocide, like my son, Haik Aisenbauer. When he was
the Chairman of the Armenian community, on April 24, he was inviting
the Austrian government leaders, senior officials, and shows a film
about the genocide. Once, after all of this, he stood up and in fluent
German said that it is a shame that Austria has not recognized the
Armenian Genocide so far. If I were to say, the Austrian would say,
who are you? While he is Aisenbauer, he speaks better German than they
do. I saw how Austrians applauded, and then they surrounded him. And,
so, every year. He is trained in Germany, every year he sends the film
“Disaster” in German to the diplomats, members of Parliament. Famous
German people speak there about the genocide, the Armenians do not
talk, it sounds from their mouths. The new president of the Armenian
community also does it, and this action has provided a great response
in Austria and Germany.” Arshaluys Tcheknavorian-Aisenbauer thinks
that we should not emphasize that in 1915, we had 1.5 million victims.

“Our massacres started since 1850â~@²s. If we want to celebrate the
100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, we need to emphasize
that it had been earlier. To the point, the Turks decided to
celebrate a holiday in 2015 to cast a shadow on events of our 100th
anniversary. They even want to invite government representatives of
various countries. If we are smart, in 2015, we would present to the
whole world with our intellect, we will show the Turks that they had
not broke, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary in 2016 with great
splendor”. Ms.

Arshaluys suggests her solution of Genocide recognition. She says that
the issue should be moved from the field of feelings to the field of
common sense, and to raise the issue of Genocide through the aliens.

“Let a square be built in Yerevan, where all foreigners who spoke about
the genocide will be presented there. Let the streets be renamed,
for example, a German public figure, clergyman Johannes Lepsius,
Raphael Lemkin, who introduced the term genocide into circulation,
the 28th President of the U.S. Woodrow Wilson, Henry Morgenthau, who
condemned the Armenian Genocide. Moreover, it would be better that
representatives from the U.S. Government are invited for the opening
of Wilson Street, from Germany – for Lepsius Street, even Merkel will
come, she is a protestant woman. Let you invite rep from Israel to open
Lemikin Street, it will be a slap to Turkey and to those denying the
Genocide, and it is a good option to voice about the Genocide. Or in
1913-14 period, the Catholic Church has repeatedly sent a letter to
Ottoman government to let the Armenians alone. Maybe you will find
out who the Pope was at that time, and invite the Pope of Rome to
open such a street. Otherwise, when we say that we were massacred,
is very little.” According to formulation of our interlocutor, there
are numerous sues in the European Court of Human Rights against
Turks, and it would be better to hire well-known Jewish lawyers to
present our trial over there. “All Armenians should be united and
set up a Foundation, every Armenian will make certain contribution,
and those well-known non-Armenian lawyers will introduce the issue
of Genocide. If we prepare an appropriate file with the worldwide
attorneys, the Turks definitely will sit at the negotiation
table.” Gohar Hakobyan “Aravot” daily

Court To Pronounce Ruling On Young ANC Activists On Oct 14

COURT TO PRONOUNCE RULING ON YOUNG ANC ACTIVISTS ON OCT 14

16:43 11/10/2013 ” Law

Karapetyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and David Kiramijyan on October 14,
judge Eva Darbinyan said at the court sitting on Friday after the
two sides made speeches.

Serzh Sargsyan Returns Hostages

SERZH SARGSYAN RETURNS HOSTAGES

Serzh Sargsyan’s decision on Armenia’s membership to the Customs
Union was followed by an abrupt change in domestic life. The
domestic confrontation triggered by Sargsyan’s intentions to sign
the Association Agreement with the EU is not topical any more. And
since there are no new confrontations, one may state an unprecedented
consensus in the domestic life of Armenia.

And what unity without a general amnesty? Serzh Sargsyan has declared
amnesty, thereby announcing that he forgives all his foes and may be
even grateful that they did not let him rash.

In addition, “amnesty” covered not only those who were convicts but
also those who used to convict. The prosecutor general appointed
by Serzh Sargsyan has already dismissed his deputy and head of the
department of corruption and organized crime. Besides, they are
already talking about the resignation of the chairman of the court
of cassation, as well as some key judicial officials.

This process reminds exchange of hostages and POWs after a war and a
peace agreement. Officially, there is no peace agreement but lack of
motivation for military actions already means peace, and now Serzh
Sargsyan is returning hostages.

Only part of the civil society did not become actors of big consensus.

However, its actions were not coordinated and did not affect the
general unity except for the young opposition activist Tigran Arakelyan
who decided to refuse the opportunity to be amnestied and demanded an
acquittal. Reserve colonel Volodya Avetisyan did not fit the consensus
either. Besides, Artak Budaghyan also decided to go all the way and
disputed the decision on launching proceedings against him.

War and peace have passed by the Armenian society which has seen
only unpleasant scenes of mutual offenses and betrayals, as well as
an amnesty which will set free hundreds of people captured during
someone else’s war.

We’ve Known Others Like Vardan Aivazyan

WE’VE KNOWN OTHERS LIKE VARDAN AIVAZYAN

The head of Kajaran community Rafik Atayan was angered by Member of
Parliament Vardan Aivazyan’s statement that heads of communities get
shares in mining enterprises.

Aivazyan has stated during the recent parliamentary hearings that the
heads of communities have a lot of powers by the law on subsoil and
they use their powers to get shares of mining enterprises. However,
he did not say which communities he meant.

Aivazyan also complained that the head and people of Kajaran do not
allow the lands of their community to be used for mining.

“We have known a lot of people like Vardan Aivazyan. Let them keep
in their minds that we will not allow them to turn our village to a
mine,” Rafik Atayan told Lragir.am. He reminded that everybody knows
what incidents Vardan Aivazyan has been involved in relating to the
mining sector. “What irresponsible statements is he making? He holds
shares otherwise he would not say so,” the head of community says.

Rafik Atayan says either Vardan Aivazyan is slandering heads of
communities or he knows about some cases so those guilty should be
held accountable.

Note that the head and people of Kajaran community of 270 people are
fighting against Government Decree 627-N which envisages allotment
of land of the village to Zangezour Copper and Molybdenum Combine for
open-pit mining. Zangezour Copper and Molybdenum Combine is owned by
the family of the new governor of Syunik Vahe Hakobyan. The head and
Council of Elders of the community are doing everything they can to
thwart the decision of the government.

“I don’t need anything from them, all I need is our village, our
graveyard, our villagers. I will not let them do whatever they want.

Where shall I take my people then, abroad or what?” Rafik Atayan said.

Armenian MFA: We Hear The Same Old Song From The Turkey

ARMENIAN MFA: WE HEAR THE SAME OLD SONG FROM THE TURKEY

16:42 11.10.2013

Armenia, Turkey

Four years have passed since the signing of the Armenian-Turkish
Protocols and during that period we hear the same old song from
the Turkish side on some creative ideas, Spokesman for the Armenian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tigran Balayan said, commenting on the
Turkish Foreign Minister’s statement.

“These are nothing but continuation of efforts to hide Turkey’s failure
of the ratification and implementation process of the protocols without
any preconditions, something expected by the international community,”
the Spokesman said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had declared earlier that
“Turkey is looking for “creative ideas” to develop relations with
Armenia.”

Shahan Gantaharyan: Armenians living in Aleppo are in hard condition

Shahan Gantaharyan: Armenians living in Aleppo are in hard condition

Friday, October 11, 20:36

The Armenians living in Aleppo are in a hard condition,
Editor-in-Chief of Azdag Daily (Lebanon) Shahan Gantaharyan told
journalists on Friday.
He said that Aleppo is in a blockade, with the local population
running short of food, fuel and medicines.

Gantaharyan said that in other parts of Syria, particularly, in the
littoral provinces, the situation is much calmer due to the presence
of a Russian navy. So, local Armenians have no problems.

As regards Damascus, there clashes happen sometimes, but the situation
is more or less controllable. Gantaharyan said that Armenia is doing
a lot to help Armenians from Syria. “But here we need complex measures
– for if a man has no job, his homeland becomes just a temporary
shelter for him,” Gantaharyan said.
He said that almost 10,000 Armenians have moved to Armenia as a result
of the Syrian conflict. 7,000-8,000 Armenians have gone to Lebanon.

K-Telecom, ArmenTel most efficient players on Armenia’s telco market

K-Telecom and ArmenTel are the most efficient players on Armenia’s
telecom market

by Rating Service of ArmInfo

ARMINFO
Sunday, October 13, 00:49

In 2012 the largest players of Armenia’s telecom sector registered a
net profit of 15.1 billion AMD, which is less than half of the
previous year’s index.

According to the Ranking of the Largest Retailer and Service Companies
of Armenia prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information
(ArmInfo), K-Telecom (VivaCell-MTS brand) and ArmenTel (BeeLine brand)
were the most efficient players on the market.

K-Telecom recorded the highest ROI (return on interest) – 17.36% –
just as it did in the last four years. In EBITA (earnings before
interest tax and amortization) the company has been in the lead for
three years already. In operating margin it is also the best. Just a
4bln AMD gap between EBITA and EBIT (earnings before interest and tax)
is an indicator of low non-manufacturing costs and consequently high
managerial efficiency. In 2012 the company’s operating profit was 22.1
billion AMD or 54.7 million USD. The net profit was 18.2 billion AMD
or 45 million USD, the income 83.1 billion AMD.

ArmenTel was also highly efficient. In 2011 its ROI was 4.53% – just
0.38% less than in 2011 due to 1% drop in undistributed profits amid
7% growth in assets. EBITA grew by 0.83% to 8.99%, operating profit by
0.18% to 12.13% (the level of the last three years). Low
non-manufacturing costs are one more proof of the company’s high
efficiency. In 2012 ArmenTel’s net operating expenses totaled 14
billion AMD, wherein 40.7% were administrative costs and 34.9% sales
costs. As a result, the net operating profit made up 5.8 billion AMD
or 14.4 million USD. Due to high non-operating revenues, the company
registered a net profit of 5.7 billion AMD or 14.1 million USD, with
the income totaling 63.3 billion AMD.

During the same period Orange-Armenia (Orange brand) and Ucom (Ucom
brand) registered negative ROIs (-17.6% and -1.17%, respectively).

In Orange-Armenia’s case, it was due to high 22.8 billion AMD
operating expenses (including 8.8 billion AMD administrative costs)
and consequent 8.6 billion AMD or 21.3 million USD loss. This resulted
in -42.51% EBITA despite substantial 16.8 billion AMD total profit
(5.2 times as much as in 2011) and high 83.14% EBIT. The big gap
between the two indicators is due not so much to prevalence of income
over net cost as to very high operating expenses (this
including sales, administrative and other costs). Still in 2012
Orange-Armenia managed to reduce its 62.3 billion loss by revaluating
43.2 billion AMD’s worth of fixed assets. The company’s income during
the period was 20.2 billion AMD.

One more big player on the market, Ucom, also reduced its loss in 2012
– by 67.9% to 178 million AMD or 441,000 USD – by increasing its
income by 2.4 times and cutting its sales costs by 34.6%. As a result,
the company registered a net profit of 5.1 billion AMD and an EBIT of
98.54% (3.87% more than in 2011). Despite high 4.2 billion AMD
operating expenses, the company might have finished the year at
profit, were it not for a growth in its financial outlays to some
956.4 million AMD. This resulted in -1.71% operating margin and -3.47%
EBITA (with a 25.35% growth in the latter index). The income of
Orange-Armenia during the period totaled 5.1 billion AMD.

According to ArmInfo’s analyst, despite the loss-making activities of
the companies that entered Armenia’s telecom market not so long ago,
as a whole, this sector is more efficient than the other sectors of
the Armenian economy due to high prevalence of income over sales
costs: the aggregate income of the four major players of the market
(with the newcomer Rostelecom exclusive) is 171.7 billion AMD, while
their sales costs are just 107.9bln AMD.
