at the World Wrestling Championships in Moscow.

class 120kg) won silver medals, while Roman Amoyan (weight class 55kg)
won bronze.

Chief Coach Levon Julfalakyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that he
is happy with the team’s achievements, despite some technical mistakes.

“I expected better results from Arman Adikyan and Vahagn Jugaryan,
but I think they will learn a lesson from their failures. We will
participate in another two international tournaments to be held in
France and Monaco this year,” he said.

RPA: BAKU’S EXTERNAL POLICY ENDED IN TOTAL FIASCO

Azerbaijan’s refusal to withdraw Karabakh resolution from the agenda
of UN General Assembly session would spell Baku’s withdrawal from
negotiations, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group
secretary said.

“Voluntary postponement of discussion means that Baku’s external
policy ended in total fiasco and Azerbaijan silently accepted its
capitulation,” Eduard Sharmazanov told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Our final goal is the international recognition of NKR. However,
we believe that presently recognition of Artsakh independence by the
Armenian parliament will not help the process,” he stated.

SUPERPOWERS’ REACTION TO AZERBAIJAN’S RESOLUTION ON KARABAKH HAD COLD SHOWER EFFECT ON BAKU

Azerbaijan’s withdrawal of the resolution from the UN General Assembly
agenda can be viewed in the context of regional relations, a military
psychologist said.

“Signing the recent military agreement with Armenia, Russia confirmed
its intention to maintain the regional balance. Superpowers do believe
that better a bad peace than a good quarrel,” David Jamalyan said
during a joint news conference with historian Edgar Hovhannisyan.

“Even of adopted the resolution would represent no danger,” he said.

“It was Azerbaijan’s regular attempt to introduce the term “occupied
territories” into the international political vocabulary. Armenia, in
turn, should give the right description of the situation in Karabakh
conflict zone.”

Hovhannisyan noted, for his part, that the superpowers’ reaction to
Azerbaijan’s resolution on Karabakh had a cold shower effect on Baku.

“The OSCE Minsk Group is not interested in bringing the Karabakh
conflict beyond the existing format,” he said.

Former IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (31-1, 25 KO’s) plans
on fighting smart in his next Super six tournament fight against Carl
Froch (26-1, 20 KO’s) on October 2 at the Chapiteau de Fontvieille,
Principaute de Monaco, Monaco.

Abraham, speaking to Fightnews.com, said, “I simply must box more
cleverly. Now it’s the time to defeat Carl Froch.”

“I’m not one who talks big, but I know what’s at stake,” he stated.

“It’s about everything. It’s my dream to win the Super Six tournament.

This is my drive, my motivation, my life. And that’s exactly why I
will defeat Carl Froch!”

Regarding Froch, Abraham stated, “He has very long, very good left
jab and a strong right uppercut. He is a fighter and a puncher,
just like me.”

About his Super Six fight with Andre Dirrell he commented, “It’s an
awful feeling to lose. I never want to feel this feeling again. We’ve
analyzed the fight and have learned from the defeat. I simply must
box more cleverly. Now it’s the time to defeat Carl Froch!”

Thousands of Arthur Abraham fans are expected to flock into Monaco on
October 2. That is when King Arthur faces Carl Froch in Showtime’s
Super Six World Boxing Classic third-round match in the famous
Chapiteau de Fontvieille, boxingscene.com reports.

Abraham can count on two huge fan groups: His gigantic German fan-base
plus his Armenian home support.

“There will be a lot of fans traveling to Monaco – from Germany, from
Armenia, from France, from everywhere,” King Arthur said. “I have
chartered plans to fly them all in from Armenia and Berlin. Even in
training camp here at the Baltic Sea (Zinnowitz) my fans have been
asking me about tickets. They will drive down all the way from the
this coast to the other coast to watch the clash.”

Up to 700,000 Armenians are estimated to be living in France. When
Abraham fights in Germany, he regularly draws market shares of more
than 40 percent on public TV. A capacity crowd of 14,000 fans cheered
him to his KO victory over Jermain Taylor in Berlin in October. When
he fought Andre Dirrell in Detroit, there were close to 1,000 Armenian
fans in attendance, meaning Monaco will not be as neutral as Carl
Froch had hoped.

“My Armenian countrymen are all over the world and they are very
passionate about boxing. They will lift me to victory in Monaco.”

Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group
Eduard Sharmazanov said that thanks to the constructive position of the
OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries and pressure of the Armenian
diplomacy, Azerbaijan has withdrawn its resolution on Karabakh from
the agenda of the UN General Assembly.

“Azerbaijani diplomacy has come to grief,” Sharmazanov told a
PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“The co-chairing countries, which used to refrain from publicly
condemning Azerbaijan, now clearly indicated that they are fed up
with Baku’s ultimatums,” he said.

ALEXANDER ARZUMANYAN: AZERBAIJANI RESOLUTION SWORD OF DAMOCLES OVER ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net

Azerbaijan did not withdraw its resolution but just postponed it till
the next session of the UN General Assembly, former Foreign Minister
of Armenia said.

“Azerbaijan has removed this resolution from the agenda, as its demand
for a fact-finding group has been satisfied,” Alexander Arzumanyan
told reporters on September 10.

“This resolution will be the sword of Damocles hanging over Armenia,”
he said.

He also noted that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs failed to give
adequate assessment to the Azerbaijani diversions.

As to internal political situation in Armenia, Arzumanyan agreed that
the opposition’s maximalist attitude can’t ensure success.

DAVID JAMALYAN: BAKU’S DIVERSIONS UNLIKELY TO DEVELOP INTO SERIOUS WAR

PanARMENIAN.Net

Member of the Public Council at the RA Ministry of Defense, military
psychologist David Jamalyan said that Russia made it very clear that
the scenario of large-scale hostilities in the zone of the Karabakh
conflict is undesirable for it.”

Commenting on Azerbaijan’s subversive attacks, Jamalyan told a press
conference in Yerevan that Azerbaijan is well aware of Russia’s
stance. Thus, it is trying to create tenseness at the frontline of
the Karabakh and Azerbaijani Armed Forces to change the situation.

“Our stance is of keen importance in it, in other words Karabakh’s
status should be defined prior to other issues. If we recede from this,
the external pressure on Armenia will be intensified,” noted Jamalyan.

He added that Baku’s diversions are a part of Azerbaijan’s political
scenario. “I do not think that they will develop into a serious war.

The threat of war remains, but I consider it to be unlikely in the
near future,” concluded Jamalyan.
