The Greek Parliament has declared May 19 the Day of Commemoration of
the Genocide against Pontian Greeks perpetrated by Turks. After the
Armenian Genocide of 1915 Young Turks continued the annihilation of
the Christian population of Turkey and massacred thousands of Pontian
Greeks in 1916.

According to the President of the Union of Greek NGOs of Armenia,
Arkady Ghukasyan, Pontian Greeks started speaking about the genocide
only decades after the crime.

Armenians and Greeks in different countries are trying to join
efforts today to make Turkey, the successor of the Ottoman Empire,
to recognize the crimes it has committed and return the cultural and
historic values to their real owners.

YEREVAN. Azerbaijani has been recently establishing artificial
communities in different world states, Deputy Foreign Minister
of Armenia Sergey Manasaryan stated in the Armenian parliament on
Thursday.

He stated that Baku is spending huge amounts for this purpose.

However, according to him, such artificial communities are not so much
effective as they do not operate as well-coordinated organizations.

Drawing a parallel with the activities of the Armenian communities
and diplomatic representations abroad, Manasaryan said that there are
flaws in their activities too. Meanwhile, the official hailed their
activities effective. “I will cite an example, Azerbaijani Ambassador
to India was keen on organizing an action dedicated to Khojalu events,
but Armenian diplomatic channels prevented this action. Moreover,
Indian Foreign Ministry rebuked the Azerbaijani Ambassador for his
attempt,” Manasaryan concluded.
