inutiles.

Mais comment la Turquie projette-t-elle de faire ?

PanARMENIAN.Net – Syrian security forces on Tuesday, January 31,
continued wide-scale military operations against rebel forces,
claiming gains against the “outlaws,” M&C reported quoting DPA.

However, fighting continued against defectors who have joined the
ranks of the opposition on the outskirts of the capital.

Syria’s state-television reported that the operation carried out by
‘the courageous troops of the country’ resulted in returning stability
to al-Ghotta and nearby regions, only eight kilometers away from
Damascus.

The broadcaster quoting an unnamed Interior Ministry source saying
“our forces managed to cleanse the area from terrorists.”

Since Sunday, fierce clashes have been raging between regular army
troops and defectors, who managed to take control of several areas at
the outskirts of Damascus. Activists reported that members of the Free
Syrian Army have retreated from areas close to the Damascus suburbs
area after army forces launched a wide-scale operation backed by tanks
in the area. They added the more than 150 people had been rounded up
in the area of al-Ghotta and its neighbourhoods since Monday morning.

The Local Coordination Committees, a group that coordinates anti-regime
protests on the ground, said in a statement that 100 people were
killed on Monday, most of whom were in areas located in Damascus
Suburbs. The intensified violence came as the UN Security Council
is due to meet later Tuesday in what was described to be a ‘heated
meeting’ over Syria.

PanARMENIAN.Net – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said
on Tuesday, Jan 31, that the role and power of media is the same as
military power in a way that it can determine losers or winners in
global challenges.

According to state-run IRNA news agency, Salehi made the remarks during
a ceremony marking the launch of new Spanish TV network, Hispan TV.

“Media has the power to shape the global public opinion, a capability
that military power lacks,” he said. “The only way to confront the
arrogant media is to launch new media charged with promoting ethics
and sincerity and adopting unbiased policies and approaches.”

Salehi delivered his speech in Spanish to show the importance of
the language.

Armenia’s President ‘at Top Of Corruption Pyramid’ – Opposition Rep

ARMENIA’S PRESIDENT ‘AT TOP OF CORRUPTION PYRAMID’ – OPPOSITION REP

Tert.am
31.01.12

Zoya Tadevosyan, a member of the opposition Armenian National Congress
(ANC), believes that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is the main
culprit in corruption in Armenia.

At a Tuesday discussion of Armenian political parties’ agenda, she
stated that the Armenian president is “at the top of the corruption
pyramid.”

“The first factor is rigged elections. If a person has no political
will and is unable to rule and lets corruption spread, what can we
speak of?” Tadevosyan said.

She reminded the participants that corruption is a crime, and the
rapidly growing emigration is one of its consequences.

“Who’s going to bear responsibility for emigration? Who’s raising the
problem of the grave socio-economic situation in the country forcing
people to leave their motherland?” she asked.

Take 2: Waving White Flags, Protesting Homeowners Try To Deliver The

TAKE 2: WAVING WHITE FLAGS, PROTESTING HOMEOWNERS TRY TO DELIVER THEIR LETTER TO PRESIDENT

epress.am
01.31.2012

Homeowners promised apartments in the new buildings constructed on
Aram, Buzand, Yekmalyan and Saryan streets were out again demonstrating
on the corner of Baghramyan and Demirchyan streets – this time,
they came waving white flags in the hope that this might catch the
president’s attention as he drives by on his way to work.

“After yesterday’s unsuccessful attempt, we came more prepared today.

The white flags attached to our umbrellas perhaps will draw attention
and the president will notice us,” one participant, Sona Maghakyan,
told Epress.am.

Seeing the president’s motorcade, demonstrators waved their white
flags and the letter they want to give to him personally, shouting
“President, answer!” However, like yesterday, so too today, the
motorcade drove past without stopping.

Later, Aida Asatryan, head of the desk for receiving citizens,
proposals, appeals and claims at the president’s office, approached
demonstrators and urged them to give their letter to her, but they
refused.

“No way – we trust no one and we don’t want to give a letter through
an intermediary. This is the umpteenth time we’ve delivered a letter
and have not received an answer, neither written nor verbal. If today
[assistant to the president Armen] Abelyan troubles himself to come
down [i.e. outside], I’ll give him the letter,” said Maghakyan.

Recall, yesterday demonstrators refused to hand over the letter to
Abelyan when he approached them.

Later, demonstrators moved from the intersection to across the
street from the president’s office, where they were approached by
Armen Abelyan. They spoke, after which the homeowners asked him to
personally deliver their letter to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Abelyan assured demonstrators that the president was aware of their
concerns and has instructed the Presidential Oversight (Control)
Service to look into resolving the matter.

The homeowners objected, requesting a meeting with the president
personally; however, Abelyan assured them that Oversight Service
staff will contact them in the coming days to schedule a meeting.

Recall, in 2006, the residents (whose apartments were recognized
as public priority interest) agreed to leave their homes on the
condition that they would be given apartments in the new buildings
to be constructed on the same site. For this they signed an agreement
with a developer by the name of Gagik Papoyan, but the residents still
haven’t received their new apartments – in fact, the units have been
resold to third parties.

Late last year, Armenia’s Special Investigation Service (SIS) launched
a criminal case against Papoyan, but he cannot be found. The homeowners
say the SIS informed them that that the case could take months as
hundreds of people have to be questioned in connection with the case.

The Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation
in Europe (OSCE) is the only competent body to recall France as
a mediator in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace deal, according to Roland
Kobia, the head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan.

1news.az has quoted the European official as telling reporters in
Baku that proposals and statement on suspending France’s membership in
the Minsk Group have gone very far, failing often to reflect the truth.

Kobia said the EU has no authority to intervene in the decision that
was adopted on a national level.

It comes after Azerbaijan slammed France for the bill criminalizing
the Armenian Genocide denial.

The members states the OSCE Minsk Group are France, the United States
