Ambassador of Armenia in Georgia on Working Visit to Ajaria

On July 9-13, 2007, Ambassador of Armenia in Georgia Hrach Sylvanian visited
the Autonomous Republic of Ajaria to discuss issues concerning the
establishment of a General Consulate of Armenia in the city of Batumi.

The Ambassador considered acquiring a building for the consulate and
discussed those possibilities with Mayor Irakly Tavarkiladze, as well as the
Deputy Head of the Ajarian Government, Minister of Agriculture Eduard
Putkaradze.

At Mr. Sylvanian’s request, the minister talked about the work being done to
encourage tourism as well as economic development, privatization and
investment policy.

Throughout his visit, the Ambassador was accompanied by the head of Armenian
community of Ajaria, Vartan Grigorian.

On July 15, Ambassador Sylvanian attended church service at the Holy Savior
Church. After the service, the Ambassador met with the representatives of
the Armenian community of Batumi.
