BAKU: Azerbaijani President Receives OSCE Chairman-In-Office

AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT RECEIVES OSCE CHAIRMAN-IN-OFFICE

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev today received the delegation
led by OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Anhel
Moratinos, President’s press service told the APA.

Noting that this is his first visit as OSCE Chairman-in-Office and
Foreign Minister of Spain Mr Moratinos added that this is at the same
time the first visit of Foreign Minister of Spain to Azerbaijan.

"This is the first visit, but won’t be the last. I hope that this visit
will be useful for Azerbaijan and Spain. As OSCE, we offer our support
to your efforts for the solution of some problems, internal political
processes and economic reforms that are important for your country. I
hope I will have useful meetings with my Azerbaijani friends," he said.

Mr. Moratinos invited Azerbaijani President to Spain on behalf of
Spanish King Juan Carlos.

President Ilham Aliyev noted the necessity of strengthening bilateral
relations and said that there is strong potential and opportunities
for extending economic and cultural relations.

"I am sure that your visit to our country will be the first step in
this field. We attach great importance to bilateral relations with
Spain," the President said.

They also exchanged views on current state and prospects of
negotiations on the solution to Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh
conflict.
