LEBANESE INVESTMENTS FOR $67,014THS TO ARMENIA IN JAN-APR 2007
YEREVAN. June 1. /ARKA/. In January-March 2007, Lebanese investors
sent investments for a total of $67,014ths to Armenia. Of them
$34,725.9ths are direct investments. The National Statistical Service
reports that it makes 49.04% of the overall foreign investments to
Armenia in the accounting period. Lebanon ranks first among the
countries making investments in Armenia.
Lebanese investors allocated 99.53% ($66,698.2ths) of their funds for
the communications sector of Armenia. In addition, $315.5ths of
direct investments were allocated for food industry.
In January-March 2006, the Lebanese investments totaled $26,867.5ths,
of them $411.7mln were direct investments.
In fact, investments from Lebanon increased 2.5 times compared to
January-March 2006, while direct investments increased 84.3 times.
The overall amount of foreign investments in Armenia’s economy
totalled $136,634ths in the 1st quarter 2007. Of them, $88,854.3ths
