RA STATE BUDGETARY EXPENDITURES GROW BY 21% IN JANUARY-APRIL 2007 ON SAME PERIOD OF LAST YEAR

YEREVAN, MAY 31, NOYAN TAPAN. In January-April 2007, expenditures
of the RA state budget made over 140.8 bln drams (over 506.5 mln
USD). According to the RA Ministry of Finance and Economy, 79.7% of
allocated resources was spent on financing of current exepnditures,
16.1% – on capital expenditures, 4.2% – on net crediting. The budgetary
expenditures grew by 21% or 24.4 bln drams on the same period of
last year. The growth is mainly conditioned by a growth in capital
exepnditures, expenditures on service purchase and in transfers.
112.2 bln drams was allocated for financing of current expenditures in
January-April 2007, which ensured the fulfilemnt of the program for
the first half of 2007 by 57.6%. Current expenditures grew by 14.3%
or 14 bln drams on the same period of last year.
10.9% of current expenditures was allocated for payment of salaries
of state institutions’ employees – this amounted to 12.2 bln drams
and ensured the fulfilment of the program for the first half of 2007
by 60%. Expenditures on salaries exceeded by 11.7% the respective
allocations in 2006.
Subsidies of 5.2 bln drams were allocated from the state budget
in January-April 2007: they made up 4.6% of current expenditures,
the program for the first half of 2007 was fulfilled by 54.9%. The
amount of subsidies from state budget exceeded by 16.2% or 720.1 mln
drams the index of the same period of last year.
Current transfers made up 27.1% of current budgetary expenditures
(30.4 bln drams) – the program on their allocation for the first
half of 2007 was fulfilled by 64.3%. Over 8.9 bln drams of transfer
allocations was spent on benefits, 5.9 bln drams – on pensions,
5.9 bln drams – on subidies for communities, and 8.1 ln drams – on
other transfers. The total amount of transfers increased by 15.5%
or 4.1 bln drams compared with the same months of 2006.
