In Jan 2007, the monetary stock decreased by 5,3% and totalled 459.9
bln AMD ($1265.4 mln). According to the CBA’s preliminary data the
National Statistical Service of Armenia provided ArmInfo, in Jan 2007,
the internal assets decreased by 12,4% and made up 134.3 bln AMD
($369.4 mln), the external assets decreased by 2% and made up 325.7
bln AMD ($896.1 mln).
In Jan 2007, the money multiplier dropped from 1,79 to 1,77. The AMD
holdings in circulation decreased by 8,7% and totalled 193.2 bln AMD
($531.4 mln). The AMD call deposits declined by 2,1% and made up 82.1
bln AMD ($225.9 mln). The AMD fixed deposits increased by 11,7% and
made up 52.5 bln AMD ($144.5 mln). The currency deposits decreased by
7,8% and totalled 132.2 bln AMD ($363.6 mln). By the end of Jan 2007,
the share of currency deposits in the structure of monetary stock
totalled 28,7% as against 29,5% by the end of 2006.
