The political quintessence (essence) of any government is the internal political conflict. To one extent or another. In this case, too, I think it is food for political existence. The beating is just the physical manifestation of the speech of hatred and polarization, in some cases it is expected, acceptable, maybe even expected for the voters of the government and those who have expectations from them. Regardless of the explanations, I do not consider it a coincidence that the broadcast was not interrupted on purpose.
Such things will always happen. And this becomes the new normal, it is being normalized. There will always be those who provoke, those who say harsh words, those who do not resist, those who pass the water bottle, those who make excuses. This is a roundabout. And right here I want to bring a concept into the field: political gravity.
Every government has its center of gravity. For this government, the center is the conflict with the former, the past, history. It attracts everyone around it, both themselves, the opposition, and the public. Provocation, response, indignation, excuse, next provocation. Each revolution strengthens the orbit. The government decides when and over what the conflict will be, others only spin.
The opposition thinks it is fighting, but in reality it is spinning. He reacts, answers, shows boyish behavior, which is humanly understandable, but politically, NOTHING. ZERO: Moreover, there is a substitution of purpose. Instead of removing Pashinyan or suspending his plans, the opposition public is taught to be satisfied with the fact that “at least they give an answer”. “They don’t beat us” becomes a political credit. This is dangerous for the opposition itself.
A body in orbit can move as fast as possible, but it cannot escape. For that, you need escape velocity. Not a stronger response in the same direction, but a qualitatively different direction. Own agenda, own field, own center. Until that happens, the government’s agenda will continue to be dictated and implemented. Day by day, hour by hour, month by month.
