Everyone, shut up and listen if you don’t want a repeat. Ruben Rubinyan threatened

After the brawl that started in the hall of the National Assembly and then continued in the corridor, NA Speaker Ruben Rubinyan restarted the session with an opening speech addressing the opposition, particularly “Strong Armenia” and faction leader Narek Karapetyan.

According to him, when he called for maintaining the rules of civility in the hall months ago, he did it for the public and the opposition, so that they would not end up in the situation they reported today.

Rubinyan insisted that Taron Chakhoyan, a member of the CP, did not use any offensive words or words that could be perceived as offensive in his speech.

“It was a completely normal speech. You, Mr. Karapetyan, did not control yourself, your emotions, you insulted Mr. Chakhoyan from the spot, and then you got up from the seat, trying to hit Chakhoyan. Then, when the fight started, Garnik Davtyan hit Taron Chakhoyan first… Mr. Karapetyan, you are directly responsible for what happened to you, you started all this…” Rubinyan stated.

He claimed that he called the security guards as soon as the fight started. He went further and said that there is no need to start a fight and then say why you don’t protect us.

“Dear colleagues, if you want a repetition, I don’t mind. Or shut up and listen,” declared Rubinyan.

He added that if it is confirmed that the assistants of the deputies of “Strong Armenia” participated in the fight, then they “will be thrown out of the National Assembly, their entry will be prohibited.”

He also restored the time of CP MP Taron Chakhoyan’s speech, during which the situation became tense several more times.
