Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, received a phone call on Monday from the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral relations and expanding co-operation across various fields in pursuit of the mutual interests of both friendly nations.
The two ministers underscored the longstanding historical ties between Egypt and Armenia, reaffirming their commitment to intensifying communication and consultation to advance bilateral co-operation.
Minister Abdelatty welcomed the convening of the sixth session of the Joint Economic Committee in Cairo last December and expressed his aspiration to hold the next session in Armenia.
He also stressed the importance of organising a business forum alongside the forthcoming session to explore promising investment and commercial opportunities, increase trade, industrial and tourism exchanges, and broaden partnerships between the two countries’ business communities.
The call also featured an exchange of views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Both ministers emphasised the importance of continued consultation and coordination on regional and international developments, supporting efforts to strengthen security and stability, and pursuing peaceful solutions to conflicts.
Furthermore, the two sides highlighted the need to enhance coordination within multilateral organisations and international forums, reflecting the convergence of their positions on issues of common concern and their shared commitment to promoting co-operation and addressing regional and international challenges through dialogue and joint action.
