Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan received Burkhard Jung, Mayor of Leipzig, Germany, on 5 October. Khudatyan reported the meeting on his Facebook page.
Armenian Ambassador to Germany Viktor Yengibaryan and German Ambassador to Armenia Claudia Busch also attended the meeting.
“During the meeting, we discussed the processes of municipal consolidation and the decentralisation of powers. We also discussed opportunities to expand interregional cooperation. I emphasised that Leipzig’s experience could be useful for Armenian municipalities and expressed my willingness to support the establishment of practical ties and joint programmes,” Khudatyan wrote.
He said the meeting also addressed infrastructure, energy efficiency and green development.
