Ambassador Narek Mkrtchyan received the newly elected Executive Director and President of the Global Environmental Fund (GEF) Diego Mesa Puyo at the embassy. This was reported by the Embassy of Armenia in the USA.
“The ambassador congratulated the latter on his election to a responsible position and highly appreciated the effective cooperation formed between the Republic of Armenia and the Global Environmental Fund.
During the meeting, Diego Mesa Puyo expressed his willingness to deepen and expand the cooperation between the foundation and Armenia within the framework of the environmental protection and sustainable development agenda.
He also informed that in order to participate in the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia, he will head the delegation of the Global Environmental Fund,” the message says.
