Azerbaijani manufacturers are strengthening their positions in the Russian market against the background of the reduction in the supply of Armenian goods. According to the “Accents” analytical center, the vacancies in Russian stores are quickly filled by suppliers of other countries, first of all, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

In January-June, the export from Azerbaijan to Russia increased by 3% and exceeded 608 million dollars. For comparison, supplies from Georgia amounted to 332 million dollars, and from Armenia – about 1.2 billion dollars.

Agrarian export remains one of the main directions. Azerbaijan supplied Russia with 136,000 tons of tomatoes for the total amount of 164 million dollars. Against the background of reduction in the supply of Armenian vegetables, the income of Azerbaijani exporters increased by about 10%.

The supply of fruits has also increased significantly. In June-July, against the background of the seasonal reduction of Armenian exports, Azerbaijan’s income from grain crops supplies exceeded 40 million dollars. A high flow of Azerbaijani trucks loaded with cherries, cherries, nectarines and peaches was recorded at the checkpoints of Dagestan.

Azerbaijani apple exports amounted to 48,000 tons worth 39 million dollars. Revenue rose nearly 10% amid a 5.4% decline in physical volumes, attributed to higher prices following Russia’s May frosts.

Azerbaijan’s positions are also being strengthened in the fish sector. Since the beginning of 2026, supplies of Azerbaijani fish products and seafood to Russia have increased by 43%.

Another growing area is juices, mineral water and other non-alcoholic beverages. After the reduction in the supply of Armenian products, Azerbaijani enterprises began to occupy the vacated niches more actively. In the first half of the year, the export of freshly squeezed and bottled products increased by 14%.

Cooperation in the field of textile industry is also expanding. Azerbaijan increases supplies of cotton and yarn for Russian enterprises. In the first half of the year, the physical volume of Azerbaijani yarn exports increased twice.
