During the conversation, the consequences of the NATO summit held in Ankara, the further transformation of the North Atlantic Alliance and its role in the modern system of international relations were discussed.

In this context, the historical role of NATO and the approach of the first secretary general of the alliance, British General Hastings Lionel Ismay, who formulated the main goals of NATO as follows: “to prevent the entry of the USSR into Europe, to ensure the American presence there and to contain Germany”.

Reference was made to the military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey, in particular, the news about possible purchases from Ankara to Kiev. It concerns the possible supply of 70 American ATACMS ballistic missiles, 12 M270 type launchers and cluster munitions, as well as their possible consequences on regional security.

During the conversation, the relations between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, the perspectives of cooperation, as well as the possible consequences arising from the change in Armenia’s economic relations in European and Eurasian directions were also touched upon.

In addition, the current state and prospects of Armenian-Russian relations, the economic risks arising for Armenia in case of changing the foreign political and economic trajectory, as well as the topic of Armenia’s possible exit from the CSTO were discussed.
