Armenian chess players are the leaders of the European U20 Championship

The representatives of Armenia are recording high results in the European Youth Chess Championship in Montenegro, confidently strengthening themselves in the leading positions of the tournament table.


As reported by the Chess Federation of Armenia, the games of the 4th round took place in the under-20 youth and girls’ championship held in the city of Cetine, Montenegro. International master in junior wrestling Alex Sahakyan and GM Emin Ohanyan scored 3.5 points each, dividing the 1st to 3rd positions.


The women’s FIDE master Polina Kobak, who also has 3.5 points in her asset and shares the 1st and 2nd places, performs successfully in the girls’ tournament.


The 5th round of the championship will start on August 10 at 17:00 Yerevan time.
