Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix on the sidelines of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the meeting focused on cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations in the areas of peacekeeping and peacebuilding.
In this context, the sides discussed Armenia’s participation in UN peacekeeping operations and exchanged views on current international security issues, including recent developments and ongoing challenges in the Middle East.
Deputy Foreign Minister Abisoghomonyan also briefed his interlocutor on the steps being taken to institutionalise peace in the South Caucasus.
