Political consultations between the foreign ministries of the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Spain were held in Yerevan.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry announced the consultations in a statement.
The Armenian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, while the Spanish side was headed by Diego Martínez Belío, Spain’s Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Spain, reaffirming their mutual commitment to further developing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various fields.
They discussed a broad range of issues on the bilateral agenda, with particular attention to prospects for cooperation in trade and the economy, investment promotion, high technologies, education and tourism.
The sides also underscored the importance of strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries and maintaining high-level reciprocal visits.
They exchanged views on the strategic agenda of the Armenia-European Union partnership, as well as on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The importance of further deepening cooperation within international organisations was also emphasised.
Kostanyan presented Armenia’s positions on the latest developments in the South Caucasus. In this context, the sides discussed the positive momentum in Armenia-Türkiye and Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, as well as initiatives aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.
The interlocutors also discussed other key issues on the international agenda.
