A wolf attacked people in Karahunj settlement of Goris community of Syunik marz.

According to “Armenpress”, Syunik News reported about this, adding that 6 people, including a 2-year-old child, were taken to the hospital as a result of the wolf attack.

In a conversation with “Armenpress”, Lusine Avetyan, the administrative head of the Karahunj settlement, informed that one of the victims was Suren Tsatryan, a 60-year-old resident of Karahunj, who was working in his garden at the time.

Avetyan informed that he is currently being operated on.

The leader of the Karahunj community has no information about the other attacked persons, he only mentioned that all of them were taken to the Goris Medical Center.

Syunik News also reported that rescuers and eco-patrols went to the scene.

“Armenpress” tried to get information related to the incident from the rescue service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that they do not have any information at the moment, if there is any, they will pass it on.

It was not possible to establish contact with the “Goris” medical center either.

Ani Hakobyan, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Environment of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that the employees of the eco-patrol service have set duty with the rescue service employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to prevent a possible new attack by wolves. “Eco-patrols are currently just helping their colleagues in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Their service is in nature protected areas, they do not perform service in communities,” said Ani Hakobyan.
