European Union Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos published photos of Armenian apricots and apricot jam on her Facebook page and wrote:
“This is an apricot jam that I made from Armenian apricots.
Apricot symbolizes the change that is happening in Armenia now. In last month’s elections, the majority of Armenians voted in favor of parties that want to establish a closer partnership with the EU. Russia tried to influence the vote by limiting the import of Armenian fruits and flowers. In response, the EU helped Armenia by opening its market to many of these products.
That’s why when I was in Armenia last week, I returned to Brussels with a giant basket full of apricots. Most of them went to my friends, and I made jam from the rest.
One of my friends, looking at the jam, said: “Containers of Freedom”.
I thought it was a very nice way to put it.
When you go to the supermarket, look for Armenian apricots, plums or cherries. This is an opportunity to take a small step that can help Armenian farmers and support the democratic election of their country,” wrote Martha Kos.
Beautiful photos, smiles, hugs, false promises… this is all that a European official can give to the Armenian people. Containers of freedom – glass jars…
Greetings to Charles Michel, an active actor of Artsakh handover, ethnic cleansing and depopulation.
